Clean, organized and friendly staff

The Aquila Lodge is beautiful, surrounded by stunning scenery. Pool area & spa & lounge area is very nice. Food - very good choice available, well cooked & plentiful. We saw lots of animals on safari which delighted the whole family.

Variable service & atmosphere in dining room. Variable safari vehicles (some very old & terrible diesel fumes) & rangers. Some excellent (Randal) others just ok. Sometimes we couldn’t hear what they were saying. Accom - we stayed in the family area which was very noisy. Noise from neighbours & other guests on the lawns at night making a noise. I felt the room needed a refresh and lighting needs improvement. It felt very gloomy. Also only shower was outdoors which in winter is a complete no no. We ended up showering in the spa. This wasnt ideal.

Food and the game drives

No tv in rooms, cleaning staff making noise while cleaning in other rooms and they took long to bring steam iron after 3hours

The cottage with the outlook to the game reserve was fab, including an outdoor shower. Lots of space . The safari was excellent with knowledgable guide. Spa facilities and treatments were great and good value for money.

The buffet evening meal set up was really poor, for an exclusive 5 star hotel. There should be some form of a la carte facility. Definitely missing a truck here. The buffet food was always only like warm. Staff in the restaurant were inattentive and not proactive ( seemed to lack manager coordination). The bar upstairs poorly utilised , surely some form of entertainment would improve utilisation and generate an atmosphere and stop it feeling soulless.
