A memorable stay!

The front desk was so helpful giving us restaurant advice and anything else we needed. A wonderful grand hotel. The only thing was that when it got chilly at night we couldn’t turn on the heater- apparently, they don’t turn it on until a certain date. The marble floors were very cold at night. But we truly enjoyed it. And the breakfast had a great assortment! Everyone was very attentive.

NOT A SAFE WALK FROM TOWN / NOT A 5-STAR HOTEL

The room was comfortable, the bed was comfortable and the shower was really nice. Breakfast was okay. Nice interior property (outside is bland and sterile). Miki (Mikias) and the restaurant was spectacular. He was pretty much the only one who would really get whatever you needed and asked if you needed anything. Great guy. The girls at the front desk did their best to get us ice and everything we needed.

CHECK LOCATION ON GOOGLE MAP BEFORE BOOKING. It is not adjacent to old town and we did not feel comfortable walking at night back from old town to the hotel. In fact, there is a multiple person brawl when we were walking home the last night and we were almost in the middle of it. We asked the hotel if it was safe to walk around at night and they said absolutely, but I assure you it is absolutely not (especially if you’re coming from old town). Take a taxi the first time and look around and you’ll see what we mean. We absolutely would not stay here again. Under no circumstances is this hotel a 5-star property *(see below) in our opinion after staying at other 5-star hotels and researching what are the requirements of a 5-star hotel *(see below). It should also be noted that for some bizarre reason you can't have heat until November 1. That is not the hotel's fault, just some ridiculous city ordinance. So prepared to freeze. But on that note, I think the hotel should have a generator to handle this since they claim to be a 5-star hotel. There's no 5-star hotel in the world that I know of, where ever heard of, that you freeze in your room because you can't get heat. They do not have 24-hour room service nor 24-hour valet service. The bar didn't open until 3 (15:00) and sometimes we could not get anything to eat or drink. The breakfast “menu” was a joke. Note the picture of the “pancake with fruit and maple syrup,” obviously one tiny pancake and missing the fruit and syrup! Really? However, the buffet part was good. *NOTE: <<"To be an international five-star hotel, a property must meet high standards in service, infrastructure, and amenities, which typically include 24-hour multilingual staff, fine-dining restaurant and at least one other dining/lounge option are mandatory. 24-hour room service with a diverse, high-quality menu is also required.

Beautiful building, very clean

Prepaid for a junior suite but no sofa or sitting room and the bathroom was down a spiral staircase. Ended up downgrading to a room on one level with a hotel dinner as compensation.

Very luxury hotel in historic building!

Luxury hotel, in a superb old palace. Big rooms, clean, very helpful stuff. 15-20 minutes walk from all the sites, parking inside, don't have to worry about ZTL zone(restricted areas). Nice breakfast in a beautiful restaurant. Very good price for 5star hotel.

We ordered 2 times room service, one was for 1 pizza, the second was for 2 pasta, they charged me 15 euros extra for each time delivery!!! Of course I didn't know that, or else I wouldn't order. Feeled liked being scamed, not deserving for this kind of hotel. Should be writen at the menu, clearly!

Comfortable in Parma

Absolutely fantastic hotel with magnificent rooms. Room had 7 meters from floor to ceiling, can you imagine. Also one of the best breakfasts we have ever had.

Room and the whole hotel was very beautiful.

The Grand Hotel was a wonderful place with attentive service and very friendly staff! The Grand Hotel is in a residential neighborhood that is perfectly situated between the historic center and Santo Cristo Piazza. It was an easy walk to the Historic Center. Non è un 5 stelle. Non ha alcun servizio di un hotel 5 stelle, a partire dal mancato servizio di assistenza ai bagagli al tuo arrivo ( nonostante ci siano scale ) , servizio scadente in sala durante i pasti e il peggio del peggio in camera: non cambiano gli asciugamani ne rifanno i letti come gli standard prevedono. Non buttano le carte utilizzate né tolgono le tazze sporche. Non riassortiscono le bottigliette d acqua omaggio né i campioncini kit cortesia nei bagni. Tirano su le lenzuola e basta! E mi stupisco che nessun cliente ospite lo abbia citato prima. Ciliegina sulla torta: il letto è ad una piazza e mezzo! È una follia.

Es hat mir sehr gefallen. Das Hotel ist ein grosser älterer Block, sieht aus wie ein Schulhaus aus. Aber es ist sehr gut im Schuss, mit einer grossen Empfangslobby. Das Zimmer war sehr bequem und sauber. Velo: abgestellt in einem leeren Gästezimmer.

L’hôtel est sublime, le restaurant est une vraie découverte et les chambres sont magnifiques et confortables. Mention spéciale au personnel, chaleureux, professionnel et toujours aux petits soins.

Le rideau de douche aurait besoin d’un vrai rafraîchissement, car il n’était pas très propre. Le sèche-cheveux est malheureusement trop peu efficace et ne correspond pas au standing attendu.

Tolles Hotel-jederzeit wieder!

Toller großzügiger Eingangsbereich mit vielen Lüstern ohne kitschig zu wirken. Zimmer sehr großzügig, hohe Räume. Essen top, insbesondere beim Frühstück große Auswahl. Auch das Abendessen, wir hatten eine das „Lokale Spezialitäten Menü“ war ausgezeichnet . Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Auch viele Parkplätze, entweder im eingezäunten Bereich oder in der Tiefgarage, so dass man ruhig auch einen Teil seines Gepäcks im Auto liegen lassen kann.

Es gibt in der näheren Umgebung wenige Restaurants falls man mal nicht im Hotel essen möchte. Ferner kommt man auf dem Weg ins Zentrum durch ein eher sozial schwaches Wohngebiet.Tagsüber hatten wir kein Problem, Abends im Dunkeln würden wir eventuell ein Taxi nehmen.
