Location was amazing and better than expected. The ease of checking in and the service. We booked a room for a family and fully expected to share a couple of beds but, when we arrived, the room was set up so that we all had a comfortable night's sleep. I was apprehensive because of the price tag, almost 500 usd for one night BUT the service and location made this more than worth it. The property was a bit dated but not in a negative way, it was more antique like and really lent to its surroundings.
Price tag was a little steep but again, everything surrounding the stay made it worth it. I knew dinner would be steep so we made other arrangements prior to our arrival. Breakfast left something to be desired and although the staff was friendly, the dinning experience was definitely geared more towards couples and not necessarily families, again, this was the environment itself and not a reflection on staff. Overall, it was a great stay and we will definitely be returning.

Fabulous downstairs in the lodge. Lovely lounges and dining room, fabulous views from the lodge and extensive grounds. The staff were v helpful with sorting out our rental car problems.
Our room was an attic room with worn furniture and was v small. Both the room and the eventing meal was well overpriced and some of the serving staff looked as though they weren’t enjoying their job. It felt like most of the money for the renovation had been invested in the ground floor rooms and not the bedrooms.

Absolutely stunning place, staff were exceptional and the small room we booked was bigger than any of the other hotels we stayed in. The fact they have wellies available for clients so they can go hiking just adds to the thought process this place has.
