Stunning views all round and the staff were very friendly and helpful when I was looking for directions to the fairy lochs crash site.
I would have loved to have a room the faces the loch as the views would have been brilliant to wake up to, but hopefully next time.

Such a special experience in the middle of the highland. The restaurant there is fabulous and we enjoyed every menu.
The room was also cosy, but the common rooms are just great. The lounges were well-decorated and you can just relax as if you live here. The view from the window is also very tranquil, makes me want to just stay by the window and do nothing :)

Good location and very clean.
The fact that rooms became £100 cheaper a few days before our stay and couldn't get the reduced rate. Menu was very limited (yes, out of season is hard but there are ways) and very dear for what was on offer. £50 for breakfast is expensive in any language and country.

Location, grounds
Some of the internal areas we’re tired. New furnishings (bedroom blinds and bed linen in particular) would improve the quality.

Lovely room, with a beautiful view, comfortable clean bed, nice extras such as milk, coffee, tea, sewing kit, very nice shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Really gorgeous setting and historic building. Friendly and helpful staff. We enjoyed having a dram at the end of the day.
I'm not fond of Jack Vettriano prints as I find them quite sinister, and the dining roon was full of them (dining room and views out the window were excellent otherwise).

Beautiful location
It was a little tatty and untidy, and the staff could have been more welcoming and accommodating. The bar needs draught beer!

Location Was nice
however hotel was complete disappointed. Hotel is soulless- manager / staff are rude - room was unclean and not at all “cozy” - forced us to pay an “extra cleaning fee” which we are now disputing with bank.
Would not recommend seems like a tourist trap try to grab money when ever they can and the manager was rude to us when we declined his £150+ meal which I’ve read terrible reviews about.

Great location and lodge has a very traditional feel. Good facilities although most were unavailable during our stay.
The lodge was very similar to a number of others we stayed in during our NC500 trip BUT the price was almost double. Kind of mars the experience.....

The hotel is in an outstanding location, the staff were good as was the food.
The hotel is in dire need of maintenance to both the exterior and the room we occupied.

Location is lovely with beautiful views.
Price of accommodation and for food and drink was grossly overpriced. We were travelling the NC500 and stayed at several hotels and B&B’s whose standards were much higher, had stunning views and were charging half the price. Room was small, window rattled all night, couldn’t close the window blind as it was broken. Limited dinner option. Breakfast service was slow and seemed disorganised. We had drinks in the bar. They had a beer menu but didn’t stock any of the beers advertised. Overall extremely disappointing and I wouldn’t recommend.

she'll take a lot she usually late for me as I visited 55 years ago. The location and View of Gairlock is outstanding and Steven the Folkner made my day with a long tailed owl on my arm and a visit to the Bird to pray display area next morning. Kayaking is available here and I must try that on my next visit in the spring in summary should I go as unique and a pleasure to relax in style. The food was outstanding and nothing was too much trouble to my request and needs Jon.
Nothing nothing to report

The amazing history behind the building and grounds is present in every corner. The whiskey selection is sublime as are the amazing views from every window. The staff is really great and shares whiskey tips with you even if you are a newbie in malts. The room is massive.
The room could be a bit cleaner especially since it is full of old furniture perhaps some fresh lacquer and a cleaner carpet could do wonders.

Lovely location. Friendly staff. Good food. Very good falconry with David.
Windows need a clean from our beautiful bedroom and also the downstairs rooms. Dining room and bar room and lick of paint outside.

Beautiful location Food was very good.
Rooms were very small, the bathroom was very dark, not enough seating in the garden from which to enjoy the fantastic view. Did not feel it was value for money.

Location was good. Enjoyed view from the dining room and the breakfast was very good.
Tiny bedroom was not a double! Might work as a single but cramped - not “snug”. En-suite felt as if it was in the room with you. Overall felt as if we were staying in an old-fashioned B and B not a luxury lodge hotel.

The staff couldn't do enough for us, my wife even got to go into the kitchens to meet the chef who ensured her that her food allergies would be safely catered for, which put her at ease. All restaurants and hotels could learn from this.

Beautiful setting. Our room was exceptional (the suite). Staff were brilliant, food was delicious. We even saw seals from the room. We loved it so much that we can't wait to back and enjoy it again with a little more time as we only stayed for one night

Super, super location, just a very welcoming, homely feel hotel. Loved our stay here, sad it was only one night and wish we had known we could have done kayaking, sailing, archery, and more, just didn’t have the time. Did enjoy the hotels snooker table though!
Great property, a pool would have made it but then that’s just because I’m not a sea swimmer! It is right on the shore!

Lovely location and surroundings, hotel was very comfortable and the lounge’s were superb with good views. Snooker table in one of the lounges. Extensive bar menu, food (fine dining) was excellent. Alternative ‘Sleep’ and ‘Make up room’ were very good idea.
Unfortunately we only had a room on the second floor which was lovely, but no real view.

Happy to have stumbled upon this one, after a long drive it was just what we needed. A comfortable room with a great shower and a thoroughly enjoyable dinner experience.

The setting is idyllic and the views spectacular. The food was good, but very expensive. The room was nice.
The property needs some maintenance outside. I have pictures from the 1960s and 70s when I stayed there and the outside was in better condition. Now there is rotten facia at the roofline, crumbling steps etc. The path round to the right is blocked off for maintenance reasons but there is no sign of repairs actually being done. So one of the walks isn't possible.
The cleaning needs to be improved. You can barely see out of the two narrow dining room windows. The mirror in the bedroom wardrobe hadn't been cleaned for a while. The plug in the bath was out and wouldn't go back in. Basically, it needs some capital investment and better QA. The staff were pleasant but not particularly interested. They don't know anything about fishing, which is a shame, for a Lodge.
