Alsol Africana

Property was modern, spacious, comfortable and had everything you need to enjoy a week long holidays. Swimming pool in the backyard was a nice plus despite the proximity of the beach.

Two days before our departure we were asked to move to another property for the remaining period of time (there was a problem with a kitchen pipe). We had no choice but to pack our things and move. The replacement property was a dump - old, dirty and (I’m not exaggerating) had a typical toilet smell. This was not even close to the standard we paid for and despite that, the management did nothing to offer us anything better. They claimed every other property they managed was fully occupied, which is hard to believe with number of hotels in Maspalomas. I asked for the refund of those two nights, they agreed to refund only half of it, which I still haven’t received. All in all, this experience really overshadowed the entire stay at this property. I feel disappointed!

Lovely balcony with sea view.Tennis court shaded in the morning so not too hot.Close to bus stops and cliff top promenade. Going to Lidl by foot was interesting and well worth the effort in terms of money saved.The cats in the area are well cared for but can be tempted with a tin of sardines.

Tennis rackets had no binding on the handles,so shared a pair of leather gloves to avoid blisters.

Very quiet place. The staff are very nice and professional. I loved that they have cats walking around :-)

No laundry. No suitcase keeping service. But I understand the staff are just available when someone checks in. If not you cannot keep your suitcase for later when checking out.

The location

There was not kettle in the apartment and no hairdryer. No courtains covering the door that have access to the balcony. No reciclyng facilities close by. No option to opt out of daily cleaning service. During our one week stay they didn't changed the linen just they made up the bed.
