We recently returned from a wonderful family holiday in Crete and really loved our stay at this secluded villa. If you're looking for genuine peace and quiet away from the tourist crowds, this is the perfect retreat.
The villa is equipped with everything you could possibly need, allowing us to relax and enjoy our time. The amenities were great: a beautiful pool that came complete with a few games and floaties, a huge flat screen TV, and all the practical necessities like a washing machine, brooms, kitchen utensils, and towels.
We were warmly welcomed by Caliope, and the owner himself was very kind and responsive — he even came by the next day to fix the automatic blinds after we mentioned they weren’t working. Everything went smoothly, and we felt very well taken care of.
The only thing future guests should note is that because of its lovely seclusion, you definitely need a car to get around. Additionally, be careful when following Google Maps, as it occasionally tries to send you down some unpaved or strange backroads!
All in all, we had a great experience and would happily stay again!

Wir hatten eine großartige Zeit in der Villa!
Die Lage ist sehr ruhig, perfekt zum Entspannen. Und die Aussicht auf die Umgebung war einfach traumhaft.
Der Pool war wunderschön und sehr gepflegt, ideal zum Abkühlen an warmen Tagen.
Besonders positiv war auch der nette Besitzer: sehr hilfsbereit, freundlich und unkompliziert.
Toll ist außerdem, dass Chania ganz in der Nähe ist, man ist schnell in der Stadt, hat aber trotzdem viel Ruhe und Privatsphäre.
Wir würden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen!

Myself and 6 friends stayed at the villa for 8 days and had an incredible time. The villa itself is next to 2 others with plenty of space between each, so you do feel like you have complete privacy. There is an electric gate, high walls and cameras around the 3 villas, and all ground floor doors lock with electric shutters, so plenty of security, and it is situated away from the Agia Marina main road and strip - a few of our taxi drivers had never driven up there before! It is only a 25 minute walk from the town (or 5 minute drive) so if you're looking for a mix of privacy and beach/town access then this is perfect. Taxis in the area are also cheap and quick to respond.
The villa itself was clean and really well maintained, and had all amenities that we could think of. The pool and outdoor grill with views over the mountains and sea is really incredible. We picked up extra charcoal at the Agia Marina hardware store and almost exclusively cooked on the grill. My room also had a balcony facing the same amazing views.
Our host Kalliopi was incredibly helpful and provided us a very long list of great recommendations that pretty much guided our trip. We preferred exploring the island rather than visiting the touristy Agia Marina/Platanias area, and her suggestions gave us a lot to do. She had a great balance between giving us space to enjoy our trip and also checking in to make sure everything was going well, and was really relaxed on our check-out day, which we were all very grateful for. The owner Haris was also really nice and chatted with us couple of times, and kindly let us use his fuel for grilling when we ran out of coal.
Overall this is a perfect place to stay if you're looking for a great base to either explore the West side of Crete or hang out in Agia Marina (we'd recommend the former). ευχαριστώ Haris & Kalliopi!
Absolutely no issues with either the villa or the hosts, overall incredible experience. Just a note - if you're driving up from Agia Marina, for the last 5-10 minutes follow the green signs at the junctions pointing to Meliades Villas rather than purely following Google Maps as it may take you to non-existent or tricky roads.

L'accueil, la tranquillité du lieu, la vue, l'espace piscine, le jardin, le confort de la villa, la propreté générale.
Un détail, mais la douche du bas est trop petite.
