We’ve stayed in this hotel a few times and never had a problem before. This stay was very disappointing.

Location

The toilet had a poor flush, when the window in the room was opened there was a unpleasant smell drifting into the room, the radiator seemed to be broken and wasn’t heating the room. It was cold. The radiator was noisy and sounded like water running the majority of the time. It was disappointing that in the restaurant in the hotel on the first evening we were turned away from booking a table as they had ‘run out of meat’ Also they would not accept Scottish notes at the till despite them being Stirling!

Very poor value for money

Bar staff were exceptionally good. Very pleasant and friendly.

Room was poor, cold, no TV reception, both bedside lamps broken with no bulbs in. Bed was hard and uncomfortable. Definitely not worth the cost.

Great location, I was returning for the 9th time to the same place, location is great

There has been a flood, the ceiling in the corridor has fallen in, the carpet is soaked and therefore absolutely stinks. It’s unbearable the smell. The room plumbing didn’t work so the toilet wouldn’t flush, we were moved rooms however the new room was absolutely freezing. We had the heating on, got two extra heaters from the staff and it was still absolutely freezing. The new room also had a toilet that didn’t work and the shower didn’t work properly. There’s no radiator in the bathroom so like ice in there, there was also puddles of water on the window sills in the morning where the cold air was coming in. I’d have left if we hadn’t drove so far to arrive and I had two young children with me so difficult to find alternative accommodation so late in the evening. Such a shame that the properly is in this state now, we’ve stayed many times but unfortunately wouldn’t return now. If anyone is staying in the foreseeable future I’d recommend calling before your stay to ensure the ceiling and plumbing/heating has been fixed.

We had booked family room and staff despite our repeated request did not turn up to make bed for child who was crying to sleep. It spoilt the family get together over Christmas and I felt I have let my family down Water kept leaking from roof - health and safety danger

The room was really clean and comfortable. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The bar had plenty of seating and the food was good value

We enjoyed the ambience of bar/ restaurant and thought we got value for money

We thought the room looked tired, carpet looked stained and the silicone around the shower could do with being replaced, also the floor outside the shower gets flooded after a shower, my wife found the bed mattress a little too firm, the breakfast was excellent and the staff including the room cleaner's were all helpful and friendly, overall though we enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

The floor outside shower getting wet through, water possibly coming through the gap between glass door and the fixed glass section.

The hotel is beautiful the rooms are comfortable and extremely clean. The staff are wonderful here always polite and very polite and friendly also very helpful.

I request an accessible room but I was given a room on the top floor as I am disabled it was extremely difficult plus there wasn't a walk in shower that I need or raised toilet.

A convenient stopover en route with easy parking, grub on site and somewhere to sleep.

Convenient location on our travels, easy parking, comfortable bed, generous tea facilities in the room, friendly staff, (special mention to Charlotte and Abby), we could eat in (not always available on a Sunday night in other places).

The room was very hot and the bathroom needs an upgrade. Breakfast was tasty but a selection of health food would be welcome (oats, yoghurt etc).
