    Lovely hotel close to Kyoto station and public transport. Walking distance to the mall and restaurants. great choice for an affordable hotel in Kyoto

    Everything you would expect from APA, the staff are great here and it’s not too far from the station.

    This hotel suffers from poor design. There is no common area for guests to socialize. The staff cannot resolve this problem given what they call architectural issues. We were disrespected by the staff for eating peanuts, conversing about our day's experiences in wonderful Kyoto and drinking a bottle of Merlot. We were told to go to our room, which you can see from the photo offers no space for socializing. We instead went outside and stood on the street where we had to dodge speeding bicycles in the dark. Our complaints were heard by the front desk and the response was exceptionally professional. You can expect a very chaotic experience at 3:00 pm check in, a lobby full of dirty luggage, painfully slow elevator service and disrespectful treatment by staff perhaps a fraction of your age. That's exactly what we received.

    Staff is not very customer focused. I asked for a non smoke room in advance and was advised that there was no room available but they could change the next day if I wanted, with no access to the room from 1000 to 1500 ; not exactly a five star service
