Fantastic hotel in jungle, with fabulous staff

Great property at the start of the main Khao Sok drag but set in the jungle. Rooms in beautiful setting. Clean and functional. Saw lots of wildlife. The staff were exceptionally friendly, helpful and funny. The organised night safari was brilliant. Would definitely stay again and wished we had stayed longer. Great value for money

Excellent small resort built into the natural landscape

Lovely small resort in Khao Sok village. Built up a steep slope from the road with each of the rooms at different levels reached by steps and ramps. We stayed in 3 standard rooms and 1 family room, which was on two levels. All the rooms are surrounded by trees and planting and you feel as though you are in the middle of the jungle. There were monkeys and large squirrels around and had early morning visits from them. Easy walk to small bars and restaurants. The resort has a small restaurant area for breakfast and food at other times. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Would recommend this resort.

The steps to the rooms might not suit less mobile people but this is the style of the resort.

Wonderful stay, hope to return one day!

We had a wonderful stay - everyone working at the Resort has been so kind and helpful throughout our stay. We also booked an overnight stay in a floating bungalow and the organization was flawless. Breakfast was great and the resort is conveniently located in Khao Sok village - can only recommend staying here and hope to return one day!

Great location, close to jungle but on the main street - good middle ground :) Very spacious room, in particular for two-star hotel. Nice staff, daily cleaning. We were pleasantly surprised with towels and bath soaps provided - great plus

We did not get the bungalow that was advertised at Booking.com website. The one given to us was way worse. Although it was in general clean, they should do something with the smell of bed sheets - they were a bit musty. Also, we had one cockroach that came to our bungalow under the door of neighbor bungalow (two bungalows seemed connected and apparently no one was in the other bungalow, except for jungle fellows). I know it’s a jungle, and one can expect such things to happen, and it was a jungle insect, not bathroom, but still, you should be aware and the staff could have checked the neighbor bungalow.

Beautiful grounds, nice rooms, great location.

The grounds and architecture are well thought out and don’t take away the jungle feel. The stairs in the room are very narrow so you need to watch your step. We only spent one night but I wish we had stayed longer to enjoy the scenery and done a night tour. I also like that you have the option to pay for the breakfast buffet or order from the menu. I ordered an avocado toast with mushrooms and it was delicious. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I would want to come back or recommend this place.

Relaxing and beautifull resort!

Super nice and friendly staff! And what a beautifull accomodation and garden! Next time we stay for a longen period. Our son was suffering an ear infection and they gave us a very good advise. Now our son is recovering and he could travel further without pain.

Beautiful location right in the middle of the jungle, fabulous staff and comfortable, clean.

Location was fabulous with the jungle on 2 sides of us - felt really in the middle of it and was lovely just sitting on balcony and taking it all in. Yim, the manager, was very friendly and outgoing. Helpful with all our questions and gave us lots of information. She was good fun with the kids too. Room was lovely and very clean. Bed sheets were luxurious. Free water provided in our fridge every day. Another good thing was you can book tours from hotel too.

Nothing really. We didn’t eat there so can’t comment on food - we preferred the look and ambience of other restaurants along the street.

Perfect

Wow….amazing!! Absolutely loved this little oasis of peace and tranquility! Wherever I went on my multi-stop holiday, the beautiful Thai people werealways so pleasant, courteous and humble. At Las Orquideas, Yim (the manager) and her team took this to another level. My room was immaculately maintained and supplied with fresh towels, bed linen and water every day. the whole of the small resort (9 villas) was so clean and well looked after and the most tranquil and beautiful place. The pool, while small, was absolutely perfect for a refreshing dip and a place to relax amongst the peace and tranquility of the jungle surrounding. The fabulous Yim organised my day excursions and the trips to the Lake and the elephant sanctuary were 2 of the most memorable trips of my life. It’s possible to save $5-6 on these trips if you wish to by using other local operators but my advice would be to leave it to Yim and you will not be disappointed as Yim knows best….and everything was so perfect and professionally organised! Although this little oasis was like a small garden of Eden, it’s sometimes the people that truly make the difference and the owner (archie) and Yim were always on hand to help out, lend any friendly advice or just to have a chat and a bit of fun! I travelled the world staying in 5* corporate hotels for many years but none of those were as memorable as this little gem….and none of them had anyone as amazing as Yim who is the friendliest, funniest and most amazing hotel manager ever…the world would be a much better place if it were full of people like Yim and her team!!! (and she even managed to organise a surprise birthday cake for me on one of my trips…! 😎)

A good budget option for the night.

Quiet and close to the centre of khao sok town. Quite clean and has good facilities inside the room. The price is good and you get a decent amount for it. Comfy beds and a good shower. The staff were nice too, they gave me a welcome drink on arrival.

A couple things in the room didn’t work eg the hairdryer but that wasn’t a big deal. The place is a little dated but that’s reflected in the price.

A peaceful and welcoming stay with outstanding service, perfect for a short family stopover.

We had a short but wonderful stay at Las Orquideas, and it’s a place we’d happily recommend—especially for families. Booking & Check-In: The booking process was simple and seamless. We were even able to check in early, which was greatly appreciated. The front desk staff were warm, friendly, and efficient. When we requested an extra bed, it was brought in within minutes—excellent service all around. Service & Staff: The service here truly stood out. Every staff member we encountered was polite, attentive, and actively working—no one was sitting around on their phones, which is rare and refreshing. It genuinely felt like there were more staff than guests, and they were all committed to keeping the property in top shape—even seen scrubbing decorative fountains during downtime. Impressive! Room & Amenities: Our interconnecting rooms were ideal for our family setup. Everything was clean, well laid-out, and the beds were comfortable. While we didn’t use the TV, the air conditioning worked perfectly and came with a remote, which we barely needed to adjust. Noise levels were minimal, and overall, the room provided a comfortable night's stay. Bathroom & Shower: The bathroom was clean and functional. The shower had decent pressure and warmed up in about ten seconds. We didn’t experience any leaks or design issues, although the tiles were a bit dated—not a deal-breaker, just a minor note. Facilities: The property features a small 8x5 metre pool—ideal for a quick dip. It was clean, not overly chlorinated, and complemented the intimate, boutique feel of the place, which has only about nine rooms. It made for a very relaxed and peaceful atmosphere. Local Area: Las Orquideas is conveniently located, with a mini-mart just across the road and plenty of restaurants nearby. It’s a very walkable and accessible area, great for grabbing a bite or picking up essentials.

The only downside was the Wi-Fi, which was patchy during our stay. But given the charm, service, and comfort of the hotel, it wasn’t a major issue.

Very affordable, clean modern buildings and the very good manager called Yim make this place.

Was very clean. Yim the manager was very friendly, helpful and spoke excellent English. Having breakfast included was a bonus. They will cook you eggs or more buffet if you need.

They collect all leaf litter from the ground everywhere. I think they do this to make it look tidy but when it rains it gullies down the hill as there is nothing to stop the water or the soil running off like other places in the rainforest. You can see the roots around the trees as they are getting all their soil washed away. I worry they will eventually loose their resort down the steep hill it is perched on. It also means less animals/wildlife are around to see. It is bad for the environment that they do not leave the leaf litter on the ground and instead have bare exposed earth.

Decent but unusual behaviour/privacy concerns

Beautiful area- huts are nice and well sized. View from patio was good. Short walk into town. The hostess was nice. Staff helped us with bags.

Weird experience with staff twice going into room while we were using it- first time they mostly demanded to come in and look at the bathroom for 1-2 secs (was odd and we got no real explanation and they didn't really appear to look at anything seriously and woke us from a nap), second time cleaners just barged in while we were napping in bed without knocking or anything. Kinda ruined any concept of privacy from that point forward. Another time a power cord with bare wires was jammed into the outlet near the door and prevented us from getting out. It was a decent stay but it felt like a homestay or something rather than a professional hotel/resort. A bit odd. For the money I would have expected a little more typical hotel stay. We were hoping for that anyway. The room was joined to another- be warned you can very easily hear into the next room.

Fantastic hotel close to national park

A fantastic location right near the national park and close to restaurants and shops .The setting is beautiful and it feels like you are in the jungle. We even saw a monkey swinging from the trees one morning. We had the family room which was clean, spacious and had a lovely balcony, with beautiful views. Breakfast was basic but tasty. We also ate lunch a few times, which was also very good. The staff and host deserve a special mention which is what made the stay extra special. Yim the host organised our tours (elephant sanctuary and jungle trek were amazing ), as well as transfers. She took care of our every need. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone who is looking for accommodation close to the national park.

We were disappointed.

The property is beautifully located. You can feel like you're in the middle of the jungle.

Unfortunately, we were treated unfairly. We received a completely different room than we booked. The room we reserved was supposed to be a private bungalow with glass doors that opened onto a beautiful terrace with a view. We received a low-standard room connected to another by a shared door from the inside, with no view. We could hear the neighbors. We reported the issue at the reception. They didn't offer any compensation, not even a free breakfast. The receptionist told us that we could walk around the other rooms and admire the view. Very unprofessional behavior.

Nice home in the forest!

It is in the main road leading to Khao Sok National Park entrance so the location is quite good, with a lot of bars and restaurants nearby. The rooms are in a foresty area which gives you a nice feel of the area, but the rooms are quite clean and with a nice balcony overlooking the forest. Quite cool to hang out in. They have a comprehensive guidebook on all the tours and activities in the area and it is very easy to book everything with the front desk, including our transport to Krabi-Koh Lanta. You select a breakfast from their menu and it is cooked upon you order so it's always fresh.

Everything is in cash basis so you need to bring a lot of cash. Don't fret as there is an ATM right in front of the resort.

This place is run with passion and you are surrounded by nature. The owner was very kind and helped at choosing and organizing tours to the Khao Sok National Park and much more. The staff was exceptionally friendly and the room was clean. Probably our best stay in Thailand so far.

Amazing

The staff is very friendly and helpful. We liked the garden with its many frogs. These bungalows are pretty much mosquito proof so that makes staying in the jungle a lot more pleasant. Also appreciate the cleanliness! The WiFi was also good.

Perfect for your stay in Khao Sok.

Anya, the staff, she was so nice and funny. The garden where the rooms are in, is very beautifull and tropical. It was a very atmospheric accommodation and booking tours was really easy. We arrived around 14:30 and still managed to visit the elephants and tubing the same afternoon. The one day tour to the Lake was fantastic! We could also borrow special watershoes from Anya which were very usefull.

The watertap in our house (nr 2) had very very low waterpressure (the shower was okay though).

Not worth it

Location

Swimmingpool was closed for 2 days for ‘ mentainance’ . Right, they cleaned rhe surrounding with a high pressure water machine, what do you expect? Muddy all the way. Room was not cleaned untill 1600!!!! They said we were the last, right, like the compound was fully booked? Breakfast very poor, not worth a penny. Didnt feel like vacation, we had to ask for normal things which we shouldnt, like water etc. Poor, very poor.

A wonderful comfy stay

The gardens in the resort and the bungalows ate very beautiful and characteristic. The breakfast is simple but very delicious, really worth it. The beds were fantastic. The owners are very social and will help with everything. We needed a last minute transport with less than a day notice. They got all essential tours ready to book.

The resort and rooms are not very modern. This did not bother us at all to be honest. The water did not work when we arrived but the owners were available all the time, responded quick and fixed it quick. So actually also good. The only downside is that they only accept cash. The ATM is on the other side of the road. So, getting the cash is easy but the fee on the ATM makes everything more expensive. If we could pay with creditcard instead it would save us.

Amazing nature. You can hear the frogs and birds and the place feels like in the middle of the jungle

One of the recommended tours was nice, the other one expensive and a terrible experience. It would have been nice getting better information beforehand. Michael (the owner) was really nice, but when he wasn’t around we had some communication issues and when we asked in English if our room could be cleaned our request was ignored and we had to asked again the next day.
