Pullman Munich

A long time ago Pullman used to be very good hotel , judging by its facilities, the size of the rooms, and the quality of the furnishings. It is very easy to reach from the airport using the Lufthansa shuttle bus; it takes only about half an hour, and the stop is just around the corner. The U-Bahn station is located right outside the hotel, making it very convenient to get to the city center in just 10–12 minutes. The rooms are spacious and all come with a balcony and a small refrigerator. The beds are comfortable, and in the reception lobby there is a mini bar with everything one might need, as well as free filtered water that guests can refill as many times as they like.

However, in an effort to reduce costs—perhaps due to its size and the number of other hotels that have opened in the area to serve this business district—Pullman seems to have started cutting back on its services. Rooms are not cleaned unless you specifically request it through an app that you have to download on your phone. There are no floor or bath mats provided. Coffee supplies are not replenished, nor are the cups or glasses replaced after use, even if you ask. Overall cleanliness is borderline. The balcony frames had spider webs and dust, and next to the toilet there was a large brown stain of unknown origin. I called the cleaner, who wiped it with a piece of toilet paper and told me, “It’s clean now.” We stayed from Friday to Monday afternoon. On Friday evening, we handed in a cardigan for cleaning after it had fallen on the street. The next day, we were informed that the laundry service operates only on weekdays, so we would receive it on Monday morning. We spent the entire weekend without it, only to have it returned unwashed on Monday because it had been forgotten. It is truly disappointing to see such a hotel in decline.

It was amazing. Everything from the cleanliness and comfort to the friendly staff and great atmosphere exceeded expectations. The hotel felt modern, relaxing, and very well maintained.

There was honestly not much to dislike. Everything went smoothly and the stay was very enjoyable overall.

- Great location, near to the underground (metro). - Staff were friendly - safe neighbourhood

- We were not informed that there is no daily housekeeping at check-in/prior to our stay - Housekeeping needs to be requested, there is a QR code in the room to request it, however, when we did request it, it was not available/did not work. We then requested it at reception and the room still did not get cleaned the next day. - We stayed for 3 nights, and the room was not cleaned even once during our stay. This was very disappointing for a premium hotel and we felt that it should have been better communicated and we could have then made a better informed choice. - Clean towels/toiletries also have to be requested from reception, which I feel is quite inconvenient. The phone in our room did not work, so we had to do this at the reception desk each time. - Overall the, the rooms are a bit tired and in need of re-furbishment, especially the bathroom facilities and carpets, which appeared to be dirty/unhygienic.
