Riad Pachavana

My welcome to the Riad with mint tea and cake while I relaxed, was lovely. The room was very large and well appointed with a sofa and chairs, a gorgeous bathroom will all I needed. Strong wifi! We had a massive rainstorm that night after I arrived. I sat on the rooftop terrace under the tent enjoying the storm across Marrakech and writing. I ordered the dinner made in-house--chicken tagine with lemon and olives. It was exceptional! I met a French family at dinner--mother and two daughters traveling. We shared wine and talked and laughed for hours (the staff went out to get for us as the Riad does not serve alcohol). I slept so well. And breakfast was fantastic! A wide array of choices including boiled eggs and omelet to order, olives, yogurts, breads and cake, cheeses and jams. You can ask for espresso if you prefer that to the drip coffee provided. They had tea and fresh juices too! The center garden was like a palace! Every detail attended to. I enjoyed my time relaxing there as much as I did exploring the medina! I swam in the courtyard pool--very refreshing after a hot day (it is not heated). They held my luggage the day I left so I could go explore more. The staff were so warm and incredibly competent and helpful. The location could not be better. It is a short walk (5 minutes with luggage) off the main street to the Riad entrance. Very quiet streets and safe. Someone met us at the main street to bring my luggage for me. It is in the medina and only a 10 minute walk to the souks, 15 minutes to the Secret Garden. I would have stayed at least 2 more days but the Riad was booked. I will love to come and stay again!

I loved everything!! The staff was outstanding and always available to assist happily with anything we needed including (if we needed help) showing us to a wonderful restaurant, taking us to a waiting cab with luggage and more. Smiles and extra caring was ever present. We felt like family. The room and the Riad Pachavana were better that pictured. The bed was so comfortable. How wonderful to have cleaning everyday as well. How enjoyable to be on the upper deck eating our breakfast. We had a relaxing massage making all our walking feel much better. The pool was too cold for me, but I like bathwater temperature!! Other guests were loving the pool. The pool is a central feature wherever you are. The furnishing are so Moroccan with cozy sitting areas. The location was quiet. Coming down the narrow alleyways can be a culture shock the first time, but what a wonderful experience as the first day started. The few neighbors we met were so warm and inviting as were the people we met in the shops as we wandered the souks. Hospitality was 100% plus in the Rial and while we were out and about exploring this fine city. Embrace the culture.

I didn't like that I had to leave!!!

Location was great it was super quiet. Mustapha was the best and super attentive. Our massage and dinner was also superb. No negative comments at all.

Would be great to have a little gym/fitness area but otherwise no bad comments!!
