The price.
It was a 20 minute walk from the center of town and restaurants.
While I room I reserved had a nice a nice 2nd floor porch, the shared bathroom was down outside steps and across a patio. Given I often have to use the bathroom during the night, I was able to pay more and get a room with private attached bathroom behind reception. That room was noisy until people in the adjacent room went to bed, and there was noise from people in the area outside reception awaiting a 4 or 5 am tour pickup.
The owner doesn't speak English and the receptionist just a little, but I managed with my broken Spanish.

Central location. The room was sufficiently comfortable. The bed was good, the curtains could use some improvement.
I would not use the central kitchen. The personnel is indifferent to visitors.
