We are regular visitors to Millfields and we were booked into the four poster room, it is so beautiful and we would like to say a massive thank you for our stay.

There is absolutely nothing I would change at this beautiful hotel.

Breakfasts and Dinners were good. Room was very good. Very clean and room service was excellent. Staff was very helpful and engaging. Shout out to Tracey!

Rooms a little tired but had everything we needed

Nothing really, a bit third world. Desperately in need of updating. Shocking for the price. This grand old building looks inviting from outside and is in an easily accessible location just outside of Grimsby town centre on a main drag. We have stayed in this hotel several times over the past twenty years and have seen a steady decline. The front of house is deceptive, having a nice bright bar and restaurant area but our personal experience was far short of good. This will undoubtably be our last stay in this establishment. I have just had another look at the rooms images on the website and none of these are anything like our room. All of those pic are of nice looking clean and bright rooms of which none have a melamine piece acting as a bedside shelf. We paid £81 for ours and it was so below par.

Room was dingy back of house and not very clean, accessed by a passageway past squash courts. Behind the large radiator was a thick blanket of dust and debris. Wash basin didn't run away until someone came to sort it out and the shower was over a bath that filled up with water as you showered. Every footstep from the above room could be heard through the ceiling, luckily that guest was relatively quiet and retired to bed early. Bathroom toiletries consisted of a bottle of hand wash and a bottle of shower gel. The room had a fridge but not even a small complimentary bottle of drinking water. Wifi although free was very sketchy at best, probably because of the distance from the router. Bedside were two small melamine shelves that were loose and sloping away from the wall which made standing a cup of coffee or anything else for that matter dubious. As a couple we have stayed in many hotels over the last twenty years, some bad some good and some amazing. Millfields struggles to make 3 stars, saved only by the front of house.

Not a particularly friendly welcome. Interior of hotel was really shabby and old. Room was really cold on arrival, was told heating comes on at 3pm, room didn’t warm until 5pm. Felt extremely cold and uncomfortable. Complained twice, first time given a small heater. 2nd time, told someone would come up, no one arrived. TV control very temperamental. Coffee machine in breakfast room or great. Ice out front of hotel, not salted until 9 ish. Mattress and pillows both very hard.

Plenty of parking and staff were helpful as I parked there in the morning of the day of my booking to then walk up to hospital. They offered to store y belongings until check in. Staff were helpful when I raised some issues with the room, offering a room change and then two free breakfasts due to the issues.

There was a lot of noise from other rooms especially above us. The floor was very creaky and you could hear talking. Fan in he room didn't work so I took it to reception to be changed. The bathroom bin hadn't been emptied and had used tampons in it which was unpleasant.

Good location, clean room. Unfortunately we didn’t get to try some of the other things that the hotel offered due to a fleeting visit.
