Great location, room but poor service

Room was great

Staff service wasn't great, quite inflexible reception that never smiled. Despite communication and acknowledgement of early arrival, the hotel did nothing to assist. The check in experience was extremely poor.. They could not even offer a room for me to change, I eventually did this in a space that was under construction.

Bed was uncomfortable and "used" in a sense that the left and right sides were uneven Waited 30mn at the pool trying to grab the waitress 'attention' , i ended up calling the reception from my mobile phone. Not even an apology! we ordered drinks and food. Drinks came quickly . Cheese platter took 35 minutes! in the room it went from bad to worse. Phone did not work so we were unable to use the room service. The bathtub did not get any hot water. After they sent technicians (had to go down as the room phone would not work) They were unable to fix the phone. Bath tub's water eventually got got. The rubber seals from the shower are yellow from old age and half broken to water leaks out. In the brekfast area the water fountain are not working and the area looks like a wasteland that no one bothered to fix. Sun beds are tired fulkl of ciragettes holes As an apology they gave us a whatsapp number so we could still use room service. Except no one dared to even answer! Sofitel 5 stars? I would not even give it a 3 stars! They offered massages to make it up to us but honestly i ended up more stressed after leaving this hotel than before

I stayed in the imperial suit. The bathroom did not have shataf, SHOWER GEL, Not only that, no hot water in the shower. The light in the kitchen wasn’t working,the lights sensors were acting crazy on and off, no tissue boxes except one in the room. The room wasn’t cleaned properly as well since we kept finding stuff and left overs from the previous guest. When we checked out and informed the stuff about our experience, she said ‘Sorry we hope it doesn’t happen again in your next visit ’ which meant that they don’t care at all in my opinion. the valet is not managed properly.. they almost lost our car keys and it took us 30 mins to get.

We asked them to find it three times before the time passed, but the staff just listened to us silently and did nothing.

Visiting the beauties of Abu Dhabi

Hotel is on the Corniche and immediately in the neighborhood you have all one could need, cafes, restaurants, laundry, tailors, barbers, shops, etc …. Nice spacious rooms though.

The rooftop bar needs urgently a revamp as it is outdated, and not really a cozy and welcoming place. Also as picture attached the food people put out their doors should be removen and not left there until the very next day 😞 Pool area rather small and kids running around and screaming does not make it a cozy place to relax and have a bite or drink.

I liked the location of the property .. the facilities were good.. loved the fact that they a supermarket which made things easy

I did not like the fact that there were a few rooms with no water hose in the toilets and we were not informed regarding that .. which made us change our room after checking in. Additionally, the cups and glasses were not the cleanest and did not motivate us to use it during our stay. We also mentioned that it was our honeymoon but that was not taken into consideration.

The room has a bad smell on the other side of the bed side table; shower glass door locks and you will be afraid to open it since it might break; coffee machine not working properly; knob on the bath tub is not working; staff were not aware of what basic hotel standards to adhere to even if they are same nationality with the guest. They have refillable bottle on the guest room without available water refill station available on the hotel itself!

Disappointing!

I booked two rooms for my family (my wife, my son, my friend, and myself), yet the hotel insisted that the booking only included breakfast for one person per room. They then charged us extra for additional breakfasts. This policy makes absolutely no sense. It is unreasonable to assume that in a booking for multiple guests, only one person per room is entitled to breakfast. Does the hotel expect one person to eat while the other just watches? As a frequent traveler, this is the first time I have ever experienced such a practice. What made the situation worse is that the hotel staff showed no initiative to resolve the issue or to care for guests — they simply insisted on the charges without considering fairness or common sense. This left us with a very negative impression of the property. Travelers should be warned that this hotel prioritizes rigid policies over guest experience. Because of this, I would not recommend staying here, and I hope the management reviews this unreasonable practice.

I had an awesome experience at Sofitel Corniche.

The location is close to all major malls, and office areas making movements in between very easy. It's close proximity to the sea provides breathtaking views and the bank is just around the corner.

All hot water kettles need to be replaced or thoroughly cleaned. They are stained with limescale which makes taking that cup of coffee or tea very unpleasant.

A random member of staff simply unlocked our room and walked in while we were in there which was incredibly uncomfortable and inappropriate. Im a hijabi woman and an action like that made me very very uncomfortable

It started so well but ....

Our intial interactions were amazing from booking to arrival and then being given a complimentary room upgrade and really lovely service at check in. Great location

When we got to our room it became clear it had not been cleaned properly as there was still rubbish in the bin fro previous guests, we had to ask on our 2nd day for housekeeping to come and take dirty cups, empty the bin and provide more water, very disaapointing after such a great start

Pillows and bed sheets are over-used it smells, there are stains on curtains, bed edges, rug. The windows are dusty, so the sea view room is not worth it. Not worth the money and I'm surprised, cause my experience with other Softile hotels were amazing!

This is my third time after years.. The hotel is cutting cost in everything and it's obvious. You could feel it in the lifeless flower at the entrance, switching off AC in the corridors. Very poor room service food (expensive and below worse). Bed is not comfortable.. Room is very dim and there a space of a removed stand lamp (it's obvious from the plug that is designed for stand lamps at hotels). The breakfast vibe looks like a school canteen. I paid for a suite experience.. Have access to club milesime.. It's a total flop! No food.. No service.. And ambience is beyond dull.. The lobby cafe supposed to be French style.. It's feels entering your elderly living room. But not cozy neither luxury.. I needed to call the concierge for 5 times to answer my call... This is not a sofitel experience at all. As if it's been given to some unexperienced group to run it..I don't recommend the hotel it's so dead.. Either they need to change the manger ans renovate. Or close the hotel.

It’s a Sofitel hotel actually, what did you expect ?

The sea view is okay though the windows are dirty. The gym looked well equipped.

The staff does not meet the expectations of a 4 or 5 Star hotel. Compared to other hotels in Dubai, this one is really bad, especially the service, the employees are not professionals, they hide themselves, don’t smile, are not polite. At the swimming pool the employees are hiding themselves. I had to open my umbrella by myself. But if you eat a salad that doesn’t come from their restaurant they will very quickly come to you to remind you « it’s not allowed ». When we left the breakfast this morning with some fruits and French bakeries to bring with us to the swimming pool, the narrow minded employee told us it wasn’t possible she even followed us till the exit of the restaurant to see if we dropped the food. Is it her business ? Yet she never came and ask if we wanted to drink coffee of tea when we had our breakfast. I think they should relearn the functions of a waiter and not bother the clients. What a ridiculous behaviour in a 5 stars hotel. For the same price you can enjoy an other hotel in the same area believe me.

The bed was comfortable and the location of the hotel was good

Where to start. The lobby was outdated for a five star hotel. Once we got our room we were welcomed with a broken ceiling on our floor with water falling through, and the floor smelled moldy. The room was old and dingy, the tub in our room was leaking. The restaurant or bar they had was so depressing and I actually felt sad being there. The hotel has the potential to be one of the best but it’s obvious the management doesn’t rate it. Never going back there for sure.

Really special stay

We loved out stay at Sofitel. We were so amazingly lucky to have been upgraded to a suite and the views were amazing. The beds were really comfortable and the bathroom was beautiful. All of the staff were so wonderful and friendly. The pool was excellent and had great views.

The location was good and the view was nice

The cleanliness of the hotel was terrible, the room service employees didn’t clean or change the sheets well The sheets had blood or stains in them the first night! The drawer fell on my daughter’s foot because it wasn’t attached properly, and when I told the hotel they said we are sorry about it, we can maybe change your room in a few nights Not even an upgrade or anything to make up for the injury or the bad state of the room Truly a terrible experience and I will never book at Sofitel again.
