The electric shower was extremely hot then cold and we were not able to change this.

A short break visiting friends

We were greeted with a warm welcome and on entering the hotel we found it cosy and relaxing. The rooms were spacious and very clean and well equipped. I particularly like the fact the shower had a non slip base. The food was excellent too!

Leaving the property could be rather difficult , the frontage of the property was made full use of however double yellow lines opposite the drive would make a huge difference. Guess we must wait for the council!!!

Really outstanding customer service.

A really decent owner offering amazing customer service - a couple of days before we were due to stay at Potter's Mooring, it turned out there was a problem with the room we had booked. So the owner spontaneously volunteered to book us into a neighbouring hotel, into a room that was significantly more expensive than the one we had booked with him, and he paid the difference in cost from his own pocket. I really appreciated that he did this for us, without us even needing to suggest it. Very impressive and not what you would expect to receive everywhere. I hope to return and to stay at Potter's Mooring itself at some point!

The lady of the house and her daughter in law were most helpful .

The breakfast was excellent, just exactly what we asked for and very prompt too. The room was also very clean, only downside , the step down into the bathroom.

A brilliant stay in Shaldon, Devon!

Very accommodating staff when I arrived late. Room had every amenity I could want, and the bed was soft and comfortable. It was an easy location to get to with free parking out front on the property courtyard car park. Breakfast was very hot and delicious. I especially like the individual "milk bottles" used for drink portions be it juice, water, milk, etc. Very clever! Staff were all very friendly and welcoming. I would definitely stay again.

Lovely breakfast and spacious room in a quiet village

Arrived at Potters Mooring after my first day of walking along the East Devon coast and was shown to my lovely, spacious room. The bathroom and shower were also extremely roomy, with good water pressure - exactly what I needed! I was recommended to eat dinner at the pub next door which was a perfect. Being in a quiet village there wasn’t any disturbing noise, even from the pub. Breakfast was great and really filled me up for the day ahead. I was offered coffee top ups and more toast than I’d ever need, which was a lovely start to the day. Great first solo BnB experience!

Perfect!

We had a very friendly welcome. Our room was well presented, with a lovely view over the green. There were teas, coffee sachets, hot chocolate, biscuits on a tray and fresh milk and chilled water in the fridge. Breakfast was delicious. We had fun with the other guests about the quirky placemats!!

Well! What a treat! We were expecting a perfectly ordinary B+B... probably a bit run down and scuffed and probably a bit cramped. How wrong we were - as it was spotlessly clean, and I mean spotless - with really thoughtful touches that made it an absolute delight. For instance, there were power points at the perfect height by the bed - for the obligatory 'phone chargers. There was a small bottle of fresh milk in the 'fridge so we could make tea and coffee. Delightfully fluffy towels... all of a standard way above what we were expecting. Absolutely first class. Excellent breakfast as well... great choice.. and FRIED BREAD. YUM!!!

Well it's hard to fault anything.. but purely for having something to say, please note that the carpark is quite tight. Having said that, it really isn't a problem - we weren't early and managed to get in OK. So, my advice would be... if you have a choice of car available to you, take the smaller one! If you have a massive 4x4 you will find it a struggle, though probably not impossible - but whatever you do, don't miss the opportunity to stay here as it was a real pleasure.

We had a lovely time and thoroughly enjoyed our break at Shaldon.

Having stayed at the hotel some eight years ago we were happy to book again. Unfortunately, the only room available was on the top floor so for an almost 86 years old it was a bit of a challenge and the sloping ceiling was too. The staff were lovely and the breakfasts were well prepared and efficient. We would certainly book again as Shaldon is a lovely place for a break.
