New year's stay.

The owners and their staff were welcoming. I felt included whilst sitting with them in the bar area. They are doing a great job renovating the hotel and I can't wait to see it when they've completed it.

I think they can improve on some little things which would make a difference like having a toothbrush holder in the bath

The views, the location, property was quite warm as it was a pretty cold and breezy town. We could see the beautiful park and the beach which was a wholesome experience. Though our room was a bit smaller than expected, it was quite cozy and nice and I definitely recommend.

Great location. Really friendly staff and clean. Wonderful scrambled eggs.

The main thing was likely unfortunate timing, as they were hosting Christmas parties in the bar directly under my room. My second night the noise was pretty bad until after midnight. My room was vibrating with the base. The single room was clean but no sockets near the bed and no bedside light. The towel rails were also coming off the wall and generally everything a bit tired looking.

Friendly, helpful, flexible, great location, great breakfast suited me well.

It was flexible and suited me very well. The breakfasts were great! The manager was very helpful and thoughtful.

The bathroom was not great. The shower worked well but was unsafe with a slippery base and quite small with signs of mould in it and other parts of the bathroom. Toilet was tight to access and a shelf had been ripped off the wall leaving no flat surface for water, toiletries.

Big room great breakfast

Room was very big, was a family room, double bed and 2 singles ,clean and big,location is great ,on the seafront opposite a children’s play park so perfect if you’re bringing kids, Breakfast was very good bigger than I expected,

The location was perfect and the breakfast was very good indeed

The cleanliness of the room was not up to the standard expected for example the shower cubicle ceiling had signs of stains caused by water,bad ventilation, the sound proofing between rooms was not great but the building is very old and considerable investment would be needed to uprate the sound proofing.

Great location. Not far from railway station and buses. Shops, pubs, cafés, beach, ferry over to Shaldon, all close by. Delicious breakfasts. Clean comfortable bed. Proprietors and staff all welcoming, friendly, and attentive.

The full English breakfast was delicious and filling. Location couldn't be any closer to the sea. Hotel was quiet and the staff were friendly

Lovely style in common areas, dining, bar and the room itself. Location is unbeatable.

Only the number of stairs to the room. A worthwhile compromise for the lovely view over the estuary and harbour.

This is a budget hotel which has the potential to be very stylish. The location is first rate.

Hotel is tired but undergoing improvements. I talked to one of the owners and they are working their way up the building. The bar/breakfast room is very smart. Breakfast was good, quickly cooked and served, plenty of space in the room. View tremendous, very quiet in the evenings. Teignmouth is an excellent family resort, this hotel offers low price accommodation. Quite a few single people like me staying, Terrace area outside for residents and non residents. Well stocked bar. Single room quite roomy with everything needed, not luxurious but everything worked. Bed comfortable with crisp linen. The location is a plus factor, the beach is a stone’s throw away, sandy and safe for children. I enjoyed an early morning swim before I checked out!

Room 9 hasn’t been refurbished yet, definitely stuck in the 20th century. Poor electrics with extension cables. No CH just an old convector heater. Shower room also stuck in another century but clean with good hot water supply.

A wonderful three nights perfect location.

Staff were great. The view was amazing from our room. Breakfast was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble for Jackie and she made our room spotless. Jamie was a great host.

Although the en-suite was clean we felt it was dated.
