Grimm's Berlin Mitte

The hotel staff were very attentive. We arrived early on the first day, and although breakfast was not included for that day, they kindly made an exception for us. The breakfast was adequate for a hotel at this level. We were also able to walk to the city center most of the time.

The room could have been cleaner. I would also suggest making the coffee machines in the dining area freely available outside of breakfast times. 🙂

Empty fridge maybe some drinks were necessary

The most spacious apartment I've ever stayed at in Germany (914sqft), daily housekeeping was so thorough and efficient but what makes Grimm's Mitte a 10/10 are the friendly staff namely Oscar (front desk) who always greeted me with a smile and Elvira the housekeeping supervisor who went out of her way to help me and even popped by the day before I checked out to say goodbye. I stayed at Grimm's for a week and it honestly felt like home. Great location close to Alexanderplatz and there were some great restaurants and cafes nearby and a Netto supermarket just 100m away. Pizza Berlin across the street has awesome pizzas and there's a cute little cafe called Spatzle Club which has amazing bratkartoffeln. Fancy Italian next door to Grimms and World of Pizza right across the hotel for late night affordable pizzas :). The apartment was fully equipped with all the kitchen utensils too. Oh and I loved the heated floors in the bathroom which came with a full sized bathtub, my 12 yr old insisted on baths everyday, excellent water pressure too. And I REALLY appreciated that they allowed us to check in early after our long flight.

I had few complaints but if there are some points which could make it even more perfect: include a microwave as it was a hassle to heat food up on the stove or oven, the washing machine wasn't working (although Elvira was kind enough to do our laundry) and they offered to move us to another apartment but that would've been a pain to pack and move. Would've been nice to have a smart TV as there were only a few German channels. The curtains could do with some fixing but it wasn't a big issue. I'm really struggling here to nitpick lol.

Room tidy and clear, location really good for centre Berlin

No bottled water, no coffee or tea facility in the room and for 170 Eur a night that was disappointing. The first room I was given seemed to be a room for massages or other services..no windows but a massage room amongst many small rooms in what seemed to be a small apartment. Would be ok for pair traveling not for a solo female arriving at 10 PM. Also, to get there had to go via kitchen entrance and utility rooms. I asked to change my "upgrade" to normal room which was done without an issue.
