Easy overnight stay

Cycling trip in the area. Bikes stored safely in a locked garage. Host enabled us to recharge the eBike batteries in the hotel entrance area (behind locked door)

Decent, Not Great

Good location if you’re visiting Utah beach and also a decent drive to Omaha. Caen is about an hour for the WW2 museum.

It is dated and needs some maintenance. A few coats of paint and new furniture would help a lot.

Dreary and in need of nodernization

Friendly staff helped us find the garage where to put the bikes and gave a good restaurant recommendation. Good secure bike parking.

The hotel is tatty and very basic, it needs modernization. Beds and bedding weren't very comfy. Bathrooms dingy flashback to the 1980s. Breakfast room was windowless. Dead flower arrangements were a trip hazard on the stairs and added to the dreary ambience.

The location is central and the staff were friendly and helpful. There is a separate garage to store our bicycles in.

The rooms are small and a little tired. The common areas are shabby and the stairs narrow.

Lovely town and well located hotel for visiting places of interest in the area.

Location is excellent. Hotel is centrally located and convenient for local amenities and port. Carentan is a lovely town and a pleasure to wander around and we would have liked to have stayed longer. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Sound insulation is poor (we appreciate that it is a very old building). We were disturbed by people in adjacent rooms making lots of noise late at night. The hotel is located in the main town square and has a very pleasant outlook. However, there were inconsiderate people in cars and on motorbikes, making a dreadful racket in the street outside into the early hours and, as it was extremely hot during our stay, we had to keep the windows open all night.

Good choice for Carentan

Great location, good value for money, comfy room, stable wifi. There is a fairly narrow and steep staircase so if you are an older person please ask them to provide you with a room at lower floors. I'm young and fit so I didn't mind having a room on the top floor.

The check-in is from 4 PM however I had to wait good 20 minutes for the lady from the reception to arrive but she apologised and it didn't ruin my stay. I would still recommend this place if you visit Carentan.
