Very chill, good place to rest and relax

Very clean, staff was very friendly and helpful, cozy interior has a home vibe to it, diverse guests from all backgrounds was a plus. Price was excellent, rooms were warm in the winter, towels are free to use, and there’s free bread, butter, and cream cheese for breakfast

A nice cozy hostel!

The mattress was AMAZING. I remember hearing people rolling in bed from time to time but the bed itself was very comfy (and even the pillow was alright), and that's a normal hostel experience. The room was very warm. The shared kitchen was very comfy, with free tea/coffee. Lots of sweet people met on my way, and the receptionist, Irina, is very attentive and friendly. Just 2 stops from Music Hall for those who come for the concerts. Overall, a pretty good experience.

I wouldn't say it's crucial, but maybe a few points to mention for further improvement. I booked a bed in a 4-bed dormitory, it was a tiny room I'd say. For those who come outside Germany: you should roll the key in the door until it CLICKS, and then it's open (I had some probs with opening the door :D). Maybe it would be great to get some more privacy with the curtains and overall to have at least a larger shelf near you. The charging station wasn't working for me so I was plugging my phone from the common socket (2 of them in the room).

Smelly Room, Bad Experience, Expensive

staff was nice and friendly. there is a bar downstairs. the metro is just in front of the building. (transfer needed mostly)

It was a terrible experience. The moment we entered the room, there was a very strong smell. This smell coming from the toilet made it very difficult to stay in the room. We couldn't sleep properly. We stayed in room no 10, and it smelled really strong. The price was very high for the room's conditions. We were also cold in the room. The heater was barely on. In addition, we had to transfer to the metro to get to the city center, which made the duration of transportation longer.

That you had to be at the hostel before 24.00, when staying in dorm (sharing with other people). l think it was very respectful. Bed ok. Few pieces of free fruit

Rude staff! And only available few hours every day at the property so things dont go to plan, theres noone to help you but other guests. Very unprofessional solution. When l arrived, they misplaced my key and the help number to call was out of order and no staff on the property. l asked an other guest to let me in. it was a chance that someone came to the hostel same time as me. Next day they took away my towel and l had to dry myself with my clothes. Toilet paper was placed on the floor not on the shelf. Staff basically told me thing were my fault even though it was clearly their misdoings..

Nice hostel

It had a nice location, not too far from the city centre and close to several grocery stores. It was convenient that the room had a private bathroom, and both were clean.

The kitchen and common space were quite small. We were there during a heat wave and the space got super warm.

Kitchen has everything you need. The room was hot due to the weather but they arranged a big fan. Friendly staff, good location!

The staff were amazing in helping with everything — from carrying my heavy luggage up four flights of stairs to giving me plenty of useful tips on how to make the most of my short stay. They explained the best ways to see the city and which public transport to use, which can be a confusing puzzle for travelers to Germany. Very knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely lovely people.

My main problem was the bed — I was on the lower bunk and noticed that some of the wooden slats under the mattress of the upper bunk were broken, right above my head. Whenever the person above moved, the bed sagged down so much that it was honestly scary. I couldn’t sleep comfortably, worrying it might collapse on me in the middle of the night. I did feel the facility was a little on the pricey side for the quality.

Bad experience

I had issue with reservation and in the end I've asked to refund and they declined. I had such a bad experience arriving at 3AM in a different town and have this kind of issue. I had to find somewhere else to stay, one thing is funny that I found there a girl that had the same issue with this same hostel... funny right?

Herr Lehmann going Köln

It was one of the best trips of life. I went to Cologne all alone for the concert. And the hostel brought amazing lovely people to me. The kitchen was the best room in the whole building. And free breakfast they offer can double down as free dinner or lunch (depends when you wake up) Staff is very friendly and answers all the questions one might have, as well as accommodate all the needs. It was unbelievably hot during my stay, and they provided fans for every room. Real good location, a few minutes away from the cathedral(by tram) and nearby grocery stores open till midnight. On the way to the city center from the hostel you'll find all the fun pubs and student districts and overall very memorable visit.

How hot it was in bathrooms. None of the bathrooms i had access to had windows, and it was unbelievably hard to even take a shower.

Convenient stay in Ehrenfeld neighbourhood

The location is convenient, in a local neighbourhood and right next to the Pius Strasse metro stop. Reception hrs are limited, but guests have a code for the main door and a key for the room. Guests can make breakfast there, with a coffee machine, bread, fresh cheese spread and good jam, a real plus.

Some dorm rooms have windows onto the street, so there will be noise especially weekends, that light sleepers need to keep in mind. The bathroom was tiny, but had the basics, shower and toilet.

There should have been more common bathrooms. I really didn't like that each room had one bathroom instead of shared bathrooms in the corridor. My room mate was sick and blocked the bathroom the whole night, plus that it was hard for me to sleep with him in there. There was just one extra bathroom by the kitchen which also was occupied. That created quite an emergency and made my stay really not so comfortable.

Easy to stay

Near to the ubahn station 3/4. You can have a nice walk to the park. In the common kitchen, milk, bread and fruit are provided for free. Free locker is also provided with bed already made for you. Easy to check in and have a stay.

There is a bar downstairs, so it can get noisy at night. You can also hear the beeping of the red light. There is a limited number of toilets on the first floor, with two rooms accommodating 2×4 guests but only one toilet available. There are no power sockets near the top bunk bed, only a USB socket (which, in my opinion, is not very common for charging cables nowadays).

A very cosy hostel for a little price !

The people working there are really nice and welcoming ! The kitchen was a real CLEAN and proper kitchen. Well furnished as well. It might not seem much but this is not often the case in hostels. Quite many staple food you can use for free as well. They lend you a towel and a lock for free if you need. The hostel is pretty small, but it makes it feel like more like a big shared flat than a hostel, which was quite nice. The place is generally pretty clean, and the bathrooms in a really good state, with hot water coming very fast. The location is in a very nice area full of restaurants and shops, right outside a metro stop, everything is accessible by foot if you want.

The usb plugs next to our beds is a good idea, but i still can't figure out how it managed to get my phone to be less charged than before after the night so definitely something to look upon, it was quite frustrating ... The 10 seconds push buttons in the showers... If you have long hair this is a little nightmare to wash them, you will need a lot of patience ! The hostel is in a very lively area right next to a (very nice) bar, so if it's warm and you keep the windows open to not die because of the heat, you can expect a lot of noise and smoke smell coming in the room... But it closes a 1 am so after that you should be fine but be aware of that.

I love it!

The bed and bathroom is clean. Private bathroom is provided for the female room, so you share the bathroom with other roommates. There are some bread, spread, tea, milk and fruits provided in the common kitchen, which is really helpful for me in the morning.

Great property - very generous room, comfortable beds, very clean, nice staff, well-equipped kitchen, great location right next to a tram stop. We enjoyed our stay a lot! The cafe/bar attached to the hostel is lovely too.

Smell of nearby neighbours smoking cigarettes permeated into our room. Not the fault of the hostel though!
