    Delightful small and historic hotel that is beautifully presented, along with outstanding service

    I stayed here last June and was thoroughly satisfied. This time I had a negative experience, not with the hotel, rather with Chinese tour groups that gathered every morning at 5:30, with typical loud voices and screaming. They assamble right in front of the hotel to give alms to the monks. This skeptical lasts for 40 minutes every mornjng, and lolks nothing like the solemn religious experience that it should brin. Its loud, chaotic, disorganized, its turned into a show for the tour operators to make money. A real shame. Well, soon after the street becomes almost as noisy on school days - the school yard is right next to the hotel, so, if you dont need sleeping between 5:30 and 7:30 am, this hotel is a nice and beutiful place to stay., but... I don't give a hoot.

    Still our preferred stay in Luang Prabang after twenty years. Not modern, but that’s the way we like it.

    As many reviews mentioned, the beautiful building you see in pictures is just the lobby and restaurant. The rooms are located down the street in a separate building. Definitely not a 4-star hotel, maybe 3 stars at best. Everything looks old. Ants in the room. Softest bed we had in Laos so that was good. Still firm but not hard as a plank as other hotels we stayed in. Shower head needs major upgrade. It’s also hung so low that only a child can use it hung. The AC was strong and wifi was good. Breakfast needs more variety. Worst we had out of 3 hotels we stayed in Laos. Only 3 types of fruits, croissants, pain au chocolate, toast, and cooked-to-order eggs and noodle soup. For some odd reason we got a la carte breakfast one day when the young lady served us but didn’t the next day when the older woman served us. The older woman also kept getting my order wrong maybe because she didn’t bother writing it down. And the noodle soup can taste completely different depending on the day (different chef?), with different soup and meat.
