Easy access to the railway station and able to walk to the Old Town area and lake. Clean facilities. We were met at the property by the host, who was amazingly strong and carried our heavy bags upstairs. The accomodation was very clean and attractive, and there was a separate bedroom and living room. Great facilities for self catering.

What I appreciated was that I managed to find accommodation during the very challenging period of the Annecy Animation Festival — and it was relatively within my budget. The bedroom was fine: recently refreshed, clean, and with fresh bedding. The bathroom was a bit squeezed in, but still functional and overall okay.
What I didn’t like was the living room — clearly very tired, with old and cheap furniture. I was paying around €140 per night, and after just a few nights of bookings at that price, the owner could definitely afford to replace the worn-out cabinets and sagging sofa.
As for the location, it was fairly central and not far from the train station. However, one side faced a massive roundabout and the other a large construction site — so overall, not exactly a glamorous setting.
For that reason, I wouldn't say it was great value for money. That said, I understand that during festival time, everyone’s trying to remplir les caisses to the max.
