Hotel Il Lato Azzurro - Isola di Sant'Erasmo - NO VEHICLES ACCESS

We liked the easy access to the beach, the staff were friendly and most spoke English to a fluent level which was helpful, especially with our very limited Italian. The pizza served was delicious and convenient, the breakfast very tasty. Staff were very friendly and did not clean the room when we asked them not to clean it, much appreciated. The air conditioning made the heat a lot more bearable.

Not the fault of Il Lato Azzurro, but due to the large amount of standing water nearby I sustained a lot of insect bits, maybe remind guests to buy insect repellent spray? Pizza was excellent but it was difficult to know what other potential options there may have been for dinner. Checkout 8-10 was a helpful time, however we wished to leave at 8:05 to catch a vaporetto to the main island and there wasn't anyone at reception to allow us to do this resulting in changing our travel plans. We were still able to move on well and are happy with the accommodation, this was just noticed as something that could be improved for a smoother checkout.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Loved that there were sweet and savory options for breakfast. Great coffee! Free bike use was a wonderful addition. Walking distance to the little beach was a perk.

Beds are very very firm. Design of shower stall led to some "flooding."

Loved the location and the value. It was a lovely island and great property to retreat to after being in Venice. The brick oven pizzas were amazing and such a great value. We ate them every night. The breakfast was also very nice and included a lot of things, including made to order coffee and cappuccinos. Because you have to purchase the water bus tickets to stay there it really makes you get out to the other islands like Murano and Burano. We went to multiple islands every day. I also love that the hotel had the free bicycles to use to ride around the island. They worked great. The people that worked at the property were so nice. And they pick you up and take you back to the water bus stop when you arrive and leave. The water buses also go all night long so you can get to St. Erasmo and Venice all night.

The beds were very firm but I was still able to get a good sleep and my back didn’t hurt.

A quiet place relative near Venice (30 min boat trip) surrounded by the green and wine yards. Own Pizzeria restaurant with terrace on the lagoon very near the Hotel.

It’s a little bit old standard. The place could need more maintenance.
