Location, pajamas, staff, air conditioner, vending machines.

Shower was a little dirty on the ceiling.

the Room size is ok, small but we still fitted 2 small luagge and 1 big. short walk to the train station was great, 1 stop from ueno station. room was clean, bathroom was a good size, enjoyed our stay.

The man who checked us in wasnt so friendly, the elevators are a bit slow or maybe its because there was a lot of school kids staying there too so it was always a long wait. but these things happen.

The buffet breakfast is very good

It's always the location that's best at Candeo. So close to the station, making it easy for us to navigate our preferred areas nearby. Staff were also friendly and approachable, and the breakfast selection is always enjoyable.

This isn't our first time staying at Candeo so it's a bit concerning that we encountered several issues during this trip. 1. Of the 2 rooms we booked, one of the rooms had blanket covers that had a bad smell. Towels provided in different days also had a bad smell like they were not dried properly. There was also a bad smell coming from the walls as if someone smoked inside the room. All were tolerable but would be highly appreciated if this was not the case. 2. In one of the days, we had issues with the keys of one room. We are 4 people sharing two rooms so whenever we borrow the spare keys, we make sure to return them to the front desk after each use. Again, this was not our first time staying here. During one of the days of our stay, we surrendered all 4 keys to the front desk as per practice before we left for our plans for the day. Upon returning, the spare key was given to us for one of the rooms, which was weird since we knew the process but we brushed it off. When my roommate tried borrowing the other key for our room, we were told that both keys were already with us, which was not the case. I immediately called the front desk to clear this up and they said they'll check their CCTVs. We received a call after a while and was told again that all keys were with us which was not true at all, so we insisted that this was wrong and we started feeling frustrated. We went down to the front desk to discuss the matter in person. The manager in charge even showed us their logs that only 1 key was surrendered before we left, when in fact we surrendered 4 keys. How was I supposed to know what was on their logs when we don't have visibility over this. I even told them that I remember the staff whom I surrendered all our keys to. The manager was giving us assurance that there was no issue but being gaslit into thinking that we did something wrong felt unnerving and truly disappointing, especially as this was already our 3rd or 4th time staying at Candeo.
