Beverley Hotel

Welcoming staff, warm and friendly. Made my stay pleasant. Gave directions to the town centre. Hotel easily accessible by private and public transport.

Were able to get cold water easily from the bar for the room.

Needed decorating, the mattress was very flat and you could feel the springs, the bath was well worn and there was silver fish in the bath tub

booked a twin room for me & my son, we got a room with 1 double bed & 1 single bed so bonus for me, could do with freshening up and a bigger tv & more coat hangers otherwise it was clean & freshly made up everyday with fresh towels.

not used to the traffic , had to keep window open as the room was too warm for me, not the owners fault. (menopausal)

The cheapest most uncomfortable beds ever. I sank straight through and laid on the base. Towels were thin and hard. Central heating wasn't very warm so slept in clothes as well.

The price was decent but the accommodation was covered in damp and extremely uncomfortable and poor

Rooms were absolutely disgusting. Bedding was so old and dirty bed and mattress so so uncomfortable. Whole room smells really bad. It absolutely spoiled our stay .

Bathroom door had been kicked /punches by a previous occupant.

The room was dated. Mould and damp patches on the ceiling, furniture which was straight out of the 1980's Only 1 towel given so the bathroom floor got soaked while in the shower. No soap in the bathroom for hand washing. Shower was barely warm even tho on full. Light mirrors in the bathroom did not work. No where to hang any clothes. WIFI was so poor, i had to disconnect to be able to use my phone. No snacks available to buy at the bar. No food available to buy in the restaurant The bar area was freezing cold. 2 TV remotes in my room yet neither of them worked. Even tho it was non smoking, my room had clearly had a smoker in there. Hallway was dirty and dated. Looks like nothing had been painted or cleaned professionally for years Reading some of the other reviews (yes i should have done that before i stayed) shows plenty have the same issues i have written yet they still have not changed anything which shows they dont care which is clear to see by the decor of the place. You would be better off paying a few quid more and getting a Premier inn or Holiday inn as they at least look like they were cleaned this century.

The location was easy to find and close to amenities. Reception and the restaurant was quite quirky. Parking was readily available and right in front of the hotel, and well lit. On the face of it, everything seemed very well cleaned, and that the showers were clean, and the bedding had been changed.

Everywhere smelled of cigarette smoke. I ended up being in 3 rooms across 2 nights (first one was a family room and I was a solo traveller. Two young women with three children came to the hotel at around 7:30 pm and the receptionist refused to give them the last available room unless they booked online. They booked online, and the room they booked (as it was the only one available) was a double. The receptionist refused to let them stay, as they have three children with them, so I said they could have mine as it was a family room. The receptionist was not keen on this idea and told me“because they’re gypsies, they will trash the room” but ended up relenting and we then swapped). Every single room smells like cigarette smoke, and greasy cooked food. There was no hairdryer, there was no ironing facility, the communal areas (stairs, hallways) were dirty and everything was stained. The wardrobe facility in one of the rooms I went in, was literally a set of hooks screwed to the wall with a hazard bunch of coat hangers hung on it. There were no spoons in the cups for making tea and coffee, there were no toiletries in the rooms, you had to ask out reception. The bedding, although I do believe it had been cleaned, was all stained. Also, it was quite thin, so I could see the dirty mattress underneath. The mattress is were very thin and uncomfortable. The rooms are absolutely huge and you have a tiny amount of furniture in them, so it made them look like prison cells. The bathrooms all seem to have really fancy light up mirrors, but then the decorating was poor, and the amenities basic.

Room was disgusting filthy broken remote moldy bedding mouldy walls duct tape holding floor dwn bits everywhere dripping sink tap mould all round bath shower head was black disgusting smelt horrible hole in back of bathroom door quilt and pillows were stained very dirty not nice.

Only complaint I have is the double bed in the massive family room is the hardest most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever tried to sleep in .i can only compare it to I may as well of slept on floor or on the carpark if it was warmer outside presently . Other than that great stay and room .

Hotel didn’t even have basic soap in the bathroom. The room smelt like it was mouldy In the world of gadgets there isn’t a usb connection

The rooms are outdated and don’t look like the photos. The TV remote didn’t work so I went to get another which also didn’t work so no TV. There was no soap to wash our hands with. There’s limescale all under the shower. Highly disappointing.

Arrived Friday p.m. to be advised kitchen was closed for the whole weekend so no evening meal or cooked breakfast. This was not advised prior to booking.

The 1st floor corridor leading to the room absolutely stank of marjuana as did my room. Room was small, decor was scruffy, mattress was old and uncomfortable. Sink plug in bathroom broken from chain, over sink shelf missing, no soaps or shampoos. Woken at 3 a.m. by noise from a air conditioning unit not far from my window. Receptionist claimed to have very little local knowledge of anywhere nearby to get an evening meal, said I could get a bus into town and there's a Weatherspoons or Nando's. Having been woken at 3 a.m. and not being able to get back to sleep decided to hit the road at 4.30 a.m. for the 270 mile trip home

Location perfect for what we needed it for. Reasonable price, clean room

Stayed here a number of times, this time we were in room 5. This room was lovely and spacious but lack of privacy via windows, privacy screen added to the window might be an idea. This mainly applies to the lower rooms that we have used on ground level but could be of use upstairs. Also bedside lamps are missing, no drawers or storage for underwear/t shirts etc. No bath/shower mat Hotel lobby - hoover and cleaners equipment left in hall way and also smelt quite foisty
