    Booked this last minute and all I needed was a bed and a shower and that’s exactly what I got. Was clean and host was so lovely. Beautiful grounds.

    the information provided by the booking site is wrong there is no restaurant or bar available (I assume these facilities would be available if you are having a function/wedding) the room and ensuite were clean. the bed was comfortable (4 pillows) but the base had a tear in it. ensuite needs some attention, it needs a repaint to a better standard. radiator didn't work. no bath mat so had to use a towel. obviously a new loo had been fitted but was not "finished off" the outline of the old one could be seen. the tiles stopped short so there was quite a gap between the cistern and the tiles. the only issue I had with the bedroom was that the remote for the TV didn't work so it was C5 or nothing (I tried new batteries). the good bits. excellent onsite host (carried my case to the room) quiet location, ample parking. lots of wildlife squirrels, owls, rabbits and foxes. but not worth the ***

    The first impression of the hotel was that it had been a good place to stay. When we entered the reception area it looked uncared for although had a advertising banner for celebrations including as a wedding venue. The lady at the desk gave us a key to our room and explained were it was. The staircase was narrow and steep and had a heavy fire door on the last step. It was difficult for us to negotiate our luggage and the doors . On the first impression the room looked like it hadn't been decorated for many years. The furniture was tired and dated, the headboard wasn't fastened to the bed and the mattress was too small to fit the base. The bed was very uncomfortable and we didn't get much sleep The shower room was accessed by two very high steps and as we both have disability issues was difficult to manage. We left the shower room light on to ensure we didn't trip during the night. The shower had black mould around the base and another high step. There were trailing lead from the TV and the kettle was on a narrow shelf again with a trailing lead. There was no hot water from the tap and they were dirty. The Floor covering in the shower room wasn't fitted properly and was a trip hazard as was the floor in the bedroom. I don't know anything more about the rest of the buildings as there wasn't any access or even a description of what was available particularly to have a wedding there. We left the hotel at 9 am this morning and left our key behind the reception desk as there was no one about to speak too.
