Lovely but not worth what they charge.

Character features and a nice comfortable bed.

The shower was leaking, we could hear the two rooms beside us as in the tvs, the chap was took us to our table for dinner was very patronising and looked down at us which I did not like at all. The food was too expensive for what you got. Was nice don’t get me wrong but not much there for what they were charged for.

A good value Winter break

We have just spent 3 nights at Hartford Hall. We had a spacious, clean and quiet room with a comfortable bed and pillows. There was a generous tea & coffee tray with coffee bags as well as a coffee pod machine and biscuits!! There is a nice atmosphere in the pub and restaurant where we enjoyed a nice meal on the first night. The Winter rate was good value and we would stay here again.

I didn't sign onto the WiFi as it needed a lot of personal info and felt too intrusive. The coffee pod machine isn't something I'm used to using and it was a fiddle to put the pod in correctly and water went everywhere! Some instructions would have been useful for this.Nice to have though and we worked it out eventually.

Deservedly busy hotel and restaurant.

Better than we expected. The room was clean and stylish and a good size. The evening meal was beyond reproach, and it’s nice to find somewhere that offers smaller steaks in addition to the normal 10oz which can be too large. January offer made it exceptionally good value. Restaurant was very busy in the third week of January.

Great hotel with good food.

Breakfast options very good and cooked well. King size room was good with plenty of space and a bath. Plenty of choice for dinner. Was a bit noisy but expected as it was Friday evening and restaurant was full.

Rather than a sofa bed in the bedroom in addition to the king size bed, an actual sofa would have been more comfortable for occasional seating.

Pleasant

Nice location and easy to find. I did not use any of the facilities as it was just a stopover whilst visiting family but restaurant looked popular. The room was presented well. Friendly staff.

I hadn’t realised it was a dog friendly hotel when I booked, there were no rooms that dogs were restricted from and I have allergies, thankfully it had been cleaned well and I had antihistamines but I would not have booked if I had looked more closely. The soundproofing was insufficient (if there was any at all), I was in was very noisy location, I could hear the people and music playing from the bar till the late evening and the lower floor had the tv on loud throughout the night.The bathroom was a little outdated but pleasant and clean.

Lovely.

Everything about the room was nice, clean and just what we needed after being at a wedding all day. Had a great sleep. Cup of coffee and check out at 11am was perfect.

Stayed here a few times but not sure it is value for money. The Premier Inn nearby is a better.

Did not eat there. Room was clean and tidy and there was a good selection of tea, coffee etc. The bed was large and comfortable

The bathroom looks as though it had been revamped. There was a walk-in shower, although unfortunately the shower tray does not extend far enough so you end up with water on the floor. Also the bathroom was quite narrow because of the shower and moving around without banging my elbows on the glass proved difficult. The room rate is for me a little expensive, especially as to have to pay extra for breakfast.

Not the relaxing stay I have had previously when staying here

I have stayed here a few times & like that the rooms are clean & there are nice showers. The evening meal was enjoyable. Bar staff were friendly.

I had a poor night’s sleep… perhaps not much the hotel could do but the guests in the room next door were really loud at going on for midnight (swearing, running up & down the corridor etc) then I was woken at 6.40am by the bin collection which was incredibly noisy & went on for about 20 minutes. By this point I was wide awake. Hoped for a relaxing night’s rest and didn’t get it. There was a panel missing from the ceiling outside our room. Although this didn’t impact our stay, it didn’t look particularly nice seeing all the pipework etc & loft as we went to our room. The serving staff at breakfast were not very friendly or attentive. This is not what I have had on previous visits when it has been good.

Comfortable, quiet and convenient

The staff were lovely. The room was a good size and the mattresses were comfortable. Convenient location for a wedding nearby. Nice touch having a radio in the room and dressing gowns. And White Company shower gel was nice too.

The pillows need changing, they were lumpy and hard. The bathroom taps need fixing in Whitley room, as they spin round and the waterfall shower needs fixing too as it sprayed out in all directions.

Lovely place with a warm welcome. Great attention to detail, even a welcome pack for the dog. Excellent. We were here visiting family so this will be our go to place next time we’re down. Thank you

Despite the few little niggles our stay was most enjoyable

Staff very attentive ,food good and cleanliness first class.

Room was made a little claustrophobic by the size of the enormous bed. No central ceiling lights which gave shaded areas around the room, aggravated in our case by the fact that one of the bedside lights was not working. Bathroom layout could be improved such as nowhere to put your towels whilst having a shower.

Very enjoyable and great sitting in the garden in the evening.

Room adequate with extremely comfortable bed. Enjoyed breakfast. One night dinner served in restaurant. We were booked to eat in the bar area, but were offered a table in the restaurant.

Parking spaces limited, even with the overflow car park. Tray on chain over the wash basin in the bathroom not necessary. Would have liked a shelf to put toiletries on.
