The Coachman Pub, Hartford, ROOM ONLY

The room has everything you need. Bed is comfortable. Furniture has country feel. The windows open (was a heat wave). Very convenient for public transport. Atmosphere and service in public good and food excellent.

Room lacked privacy, no voiles only curtains. Slight feeling of damp, artificial room fresheners. The kitchen is not open for breakfast.

We stayed on a Monday, the kitchen was closed and no breakfast available. Would have been happy with reduced hours for the restaurant and would have like to have breakfast. We were able to find another property in the area offering food at night and breakfast. It's a shame as all other areas of service were good.

Well situated near the railway station and the place we were visiting. The pub was nice.

Very dated rooms, in need of an upgrade in many areas. Bathroom sink Formica was peeling off and there were disabled rails absolutely everywhere, which made us feel like we’d been put in the wrong room. The checkout time is 11am, so we enquired when breakfast was served, and were told that it didn’t start until 12pm alongside lunch (1 hour following checkout!!). Eventually on check out, the pub was locked at 11am and there was no one to hand the key to, so we had to search for a member of staff, eventually finding the chef who took the key from us. Almost £100 for a 1 night stay was very overpriced in our opinion, and highly unlikely we will be returning. Owning our own holiday home, we don’t usually leave negative reviews, but in this instance felt we needed to point out the poor experience we had.
