Location perfect for the Rugby at Murrayfeild, breakfast was excellent and good value for money, Room was clean and comfortable, only issue was lack of natural lighting, but our room was on the forth floor which has small windows in the roof space, but otherwise everything was good

Average facility . Manager attitude was bad and not helpful. Even at 1.15 pm, they have charged early check-in charges.2

British pound 200 were stolen from by room safe. Manager was not helpful in sorting out. I know room cleaner has stolen but they did not do anything. Manager did not come on phone to discuss in the morning and only came at her duty time and was very blunt ant not helpful. Reception guy was courteous and helpful.

Perfect for our needs

Great location - easy to get to from airport on tram and short walk in to city centre. Fantastic breakfast - cooked options were particularly tasty. Nice staff. Comfy bed.

Quite dark in room - one small window and limited lighting. Good space to hang clothes but only small drawer for additional storage.

Very good, unless you get the wrong room.

We loved the location, very handy when travelling from the airport as the bus stop is about 200 meters away. The staff was very polite and nice. Breakfast was great, good choice of everything and they kept adding fresh juice and coffee. The room was clean, meaning what the cleaning staff could've clean - they did.

There was a mold in corner of a bathtub and clear rust in drainage ditch in wash basin. Again, this isn't cleaning staff fault - they just need to ugprade the utilities. The biggest problem by far, and why I gave it 7/10 is the room location. Rooms 101, 102 are nightmare is you want to sleep past 7am - they are right next the cleaning staff room and they are not sound proof (very far from that, in fact). Constant door banging, and also as your own doors keep jumping in and out. Chatter of the staff as if they are in the room with you. You hear as they put water in their cleaning buckets, it goes straight to the rooms pipes. Of course, no one is probably in the hotel to sleep all day but then again, 7am.

The bathroom had broken shower appliances, the tap for the hot water for the bath was broken, the plunger stop was broken. Overall the bathroom was nice but a bit shabby, and not in a great state for price charged or rating they command. Could not run a bath or drain it without calling reception, which is not idel.

I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are looking for comfort and great location!

Fantastic location- approximately 20 min walk from all the main attractions, and countless options for transport at your doorstep. The breakfast had everything you would expect: filtered coffee, scrambled eggs, beans, mushrooms, hash browns, toast, fruit, yogurt, granola, and pastries. Really good value for money considering that having breakfast outside would cost you more and you’d eat less. Room is huge and there’s air conditioning and extra towels Toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were provided, aside from hairdryer, iron, etc Staff were fantastic and super friendly throughout

My room was 103, which is right next to the staff room. Not ideal if you are looking for some peace and quiet or just to have a nap after lunch as you can hear doors banging and people shouting in the corridor, especially when the rooms are being cleaned or when it’s next to check out times. Another thing was the channel options: we were limited to th channels and no option to stream our netflix or prime video accounts. The fan in my bathroom wasn’t working, so all the steam was there for quite some time after showers.

The breakfast service was odd. Reasonable buffet selection of both hot and cold food, but no toaster. No offer of alternative to scrambled eggs though when asked could manage fried or boiled. No offer of anything but filter coffee despite a cappuccino machine. Table was cleared when I left temporarily to use the bathroom. At almost £300 a night none of this should have happened.

Great stay and appreciated the extra little touches

I booked a small double bedroom for the night as we were going to the Johnie Walker experience for my husband’s birthday. I received an email telling me that we were going to be upgraded to one of the king size rooms as it was his birthday. When we got to our room there was a birthday card, balloons and a couple of cans of coke which was a very nice touch and made us both so happy. Staff were nice, the room was spotless and the location was ideal for what we needed it for. We would definitely stay here again

The size of the room and bed were perfect and the bathroom was modern and clean. Location was a bit further out but near to lots of lovely cafes and restaurants and perfect for the tram into the city centre.

No gym/leisure facilities but this was reflected in the price as it was cheaper than other city hotels. We didn't realise we could've accessed the Grand's facilities and paid to use them.

Fine for 1 Night in the City

Excellent location, 5min walk from Haymarket. We used Just Park and got parked on Distillery Lane which sits parallel to Haymarket. Had a concert at the Usher Hall so this was perfectly located for walking there, the city centre, Dean Village and Stockbridge.

We were given a room upgrade but not quite sure what the difference was? Room was small, bed was maybe a King? View of the carpark/houses out the back. Shower tray had a lot of black mould in the centre where you stand. Also got charged twice for the room but thankfully I noticed this and got a refund after a few days.

Service not as expected, room comfortable and high level of cleanliness

Breakfast was good and varied. Great location for our needs. We arrived early and stored our luggage until we were able to check-in later. The staff member on duty was extremely helpful. On check-out the reception staff was again different and the manager was brilliant in responding to our complaint regards check-in experience. Soon after leaving hotel we received email apologizing for the treatment received and refunding of the room upgrade and parking charge.

When we returned to check-in the staff on reception had changed and we were informed we needed to pay. After explaining that this had been done via booking.com and producing receipt I was told that this was NOT a receipt for payment. I found the booking which stated payment received. The attitude from these 2 staff members was not what I would have expected from this chain of hotels. They were both argumentative and disrespectful. We were even told that payment was needed for parking and this was paid at check-in. The bar had been left unattended for a full 10 minutes which left us and other guests waiting

Comfortable and good, but it could have been great.

The general cleanliness of the hotel was good. While the cost was expensive, it was one of the better options in a very expensive city. The staff were courteous and helpful. The breakfast was done well - maybe limited options for some people, but I was happy with it.

The bathroom wasn’t great, with cracked tiles and dirty grouting in the shower. It did feel a little style of substance in some respects: because the bathroom door was frosted glass, there were no towel hooks and only one small rail for 1 towel; it was nice a hair dryer was provided, but there was no plug socket anywhere near the one mirror in the room; the coat hangers were too big for the closet, and the hanging rail wasn’t installed properly and kept collapsing; and the room entrance area was painted black with black light switches, so they weren’t immediately easy to find. Not major issues, but a few small things that show maybe practicality wasn’t high on the agenda when designing rooms. I assume there was an issue with the kitchen, as the night we were going to eat in the restaurant because we were told only pizza and fries were available, although the pizza oven didn’t appear to be lit.
