Cold and shattered

Was clean staff lovely and helpful

The room was freezing threw the night and waking up the heater doesn’t give out much heat the bed was so noisy the room we were must of been near kitchen could hear banging and talking about 7 this morning from there and for some strange reason not one of the pillow cases fit the pillows they are all to small so kept coming off if you moved I have here before and was great this time wasnt so good

Great hotel with nice staff and gym and spa facilities.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, the hotel is always clean and has everything we needed. I enjoyed using the gym and spa in the morning. The breakfast was well stocked and the room was comfortable.

I would love to see more specific signage at breakfast to highlight allergens, It would also be great to see more plant-based options.

The staff made our visit enjoyable, especially Emily in the Bar/Restaurant, she's a credit to the hotel.

Not limited to the village, but I don't agree on having to pay for parking,when staying over night at a hotel.

Hotel okay. Horrible wif and kept getting woken up by loud movements from above because of thisi wouldn’t stay again

Good location and generally clean

Walls are so thin . Could hear the people on top of us walking. The WiFi is so so slow. We could not watch anything on the TV as it kept buffering every 10 seconds and we stayed at the hotel for work, during which the wifi was so slow where it had hindered my work day

We had a really lovely time and would definitely go back again!

All the staff were amazing, very friendly and accommodating! and the room size was great! Being able to use the pool and gym was a bonus, the coffee shop and bar was good too! All of it!

Our room was freezing when we got in and didn’t notice the radiator till later on and took forever to warm up, I had to sleep in a jumper. There was a delivery wagon idling for about half hour+ outside our window and the noise was driving us nuts. Water was scolding. Room maids loudly banging on everyone’s door at 10am shouting woke us up and put us on edge that someone was going to do it to us and just walk in even though we had late check out (luckily they didn’t) We went to the event that was on and it was far too cramped in there, were to many tables, were to close and you couldn’t move.

I got cheap service for a cheap hotel stay.

The pool and gym staff were really helpful and friendly. The location of the hotel was good! The hotel room was good.

I was charged for breakfast that we didn’t have. When speaking to the staff they said I opted for this so ‘it was my fault’ for not going for breakfast. I only added breakfast on for one day not the two of my stay but was charged for two. I was disappointed by this response from the staff. I had to escalate this despite never booking two days worth of breakfasts. There were also no tables for my family and I to have food at the restaurant, again the staff struggled to find a solution for us. We had to suggest the solution of using a table 90mins before the reservation was arriving for their table. I thought this would be common sense for staff in the hospitality trade.

We had to leave early so didn't experience breakfast.

Surprised the room was painted a cold blue - not very welcoming in the winter. Neutral warm colour would be so much nicer. The bathroom was tired looking

Ok but would probably not stay again even though location is ideal for us when visiting family.

Staff were excellent, friendly and polite. Breakfast had a lot of choice and was hot.

Rooms were a bit tired, lose wires on socket, bathroom was spacious but had mould on shower area. Swimming pool was freezing cold, however appreciated that they had children times for swimming.

A comfortable one night stay

We did have a quiet room which I asked for. I asked for green tea bag’s and one of the people on the reception did give me two green tea vafs & two camomile ones.

The poor lighting in the room.. the shower pressure wasn’t good either

Great place. Excellent facilities

Room was a bit dark. Check in needs to be reverted back to a check in counter. The machines are hard work. And the one person at the desk looked stressed and over worked. The girl said it was difficult to give decent service when you get large numbers of people booking in at the same time

A very pleasant all in one hotel stay

The bed was super comfy, there was plenty of room to spread out all of luggage for re-sorting and everything in the room was, very clean. We had a nice meal in the restaurant and enjoyed access to the health center which come with our room rate. We were in town for the Great North run 5k event and with a Metro just a short drive away, we were in and out of the city with no worries about traffic and finding somewhere to park. I highly recommend this place for a base if you intend on running in any of the GNR events.

The shower should be improved for better stays of customers. It's hard to shower kids on that design/old design. And the toilets too need improvements and the heating, its wasn't working at all. Etc.

Spacious, easy to move around and staff were friendly. Our room was really clean and had everything we needed and everything I'd requested for my friend's birthday were in the room on arrival. We didn't use any of the facilities as we were just wanting a girlie catch up but the pool did look inviting.

Not so much we didn't like, mattresses and pillows could do with replacing not great quality, so it was a little uncomfortable. I think there was only one lift but could definitely do with two.

Terrible lighting, missing bedside lamp. Missing lamp in corner of room. Several switches on the wall didn't controll anything, thus a very dark room! Access to the club rooms through the bar/restaurant bit odd, halway smelt of food. Did not smell in room though

Lovely place - met the needs although the minor ones rectified would make it a great stay

- Staff were very pleasant and helpful - Plenty of parking - Facilities to cover all needs from food to Gym - great! :) - Easy to find - Great choice of pillows to choose from - well accommodated!!

- Mattress seemed well used as support not great - Dusty in places - Fan was appreciated however was very dusty - Only chair to sit on was covered in obvious food crumbs - The view overlooked the flat roof which I accept however the view included looking at dustpan brush and a clearly out of date large milk container with contents spread over the roof was not pleasant. These are minor things that with checking could be rectified easily.
