The location of the hotel is wonderful being right on Rutland Water.
There are a variety of different accommodation options; private rooms, family suites and self catering accommodation available in the 70 acre grounds.
There are a lot of steps to negotiate to get to the restaurant and pool, gym and spa facilities.
This wasn’t a problem for us but you need to be reasonably fit to deal with this.
However the hotel does provide courtesy electric vehicles for those who may need help getting from their accommodation to other areas of the grounds and hotel.

Staff were exceptional. Felt cared for. Very helpful with allergies at restaurant.
We have limited mobility - several sets of steep steps from our room up to the restaurant. We would be able in future to ask for closer accommodation at a different hotel block.

Facilities and location spectacular
Lack of clear direction to hotel bedroom. Very complicated and map utterly unclear

Beautiful setting next to Rutland Water. Comfortable, cosy room has all that you need for an overnight stay. Good size swimming pool, which was not too busy. Good sauna and steam room. Dinner and breakfast in Blossoms restaurant was excellent.
The bathroom facility only allowed one hot shower before the water went cold for a second person. This may have been a one-off fault, but we were not happy. On ringing reception, my husband was given a key for the adjacent room to use the shower; lucky that it was not too busy and that they could offer this.

The hotel and accommodation is located within a 70 acre estate over looking Rutland Water. Despite the size, the rooms, buildings and grounds are well maintained, stylishly decorated and clean, there are great facilities, gym, pool, spa, lovely walks etc, the restaurant provides good food.
The bedrooms are some distance from restaurant and facilities and there are steep climbs up steps and walkways to get to there and to the other facilities, this can be challenging for those who are less able, thankfully a “buggy” can be booked to ferry you from room to the facilities at the higher locations on the estate.

Lockers at the spa didn’t work.

Beautiful location, delicious food, extremely friendly and helpful staff. We had a problem
With electricity in our room. This was immediately resolved in that we were upgraded to a delightful room with a beautiful view of Rutland Water.
We couldn‘t have asked for better service or brtter location.

Lovely room, quite sung and the double bed was a small but was very nicely decorated, furnished and had great views.
Good breakfast choices and vegetarian sausages were cooked on request.
Superb location, views and access to Rutland water.
All the staff were polite, welcoming and friendly
Nothing, however the restaurant and bar was a bit expensive, although the meals were very nice.
We were unable to park directly outside the accommodation but this wasn't an issue as plenty of nearby parking and we could drop off and collect just outside the accommodation for ease with baggage.

The staff were lovely
The room wasn’t soundproofed so we could hear the guests talking and using the bathroom. The pool was also not of the standard fit a ‘spa’ hotel.

Nice views
Underwhelming for the price. Pool was cold and children unaccompanied by a swimming adult (clearly under 8)… steam room out of action and we couldn’t get in the sauna as it was very brief and people in for the duration of our time in the pool. The room was tiny but clean

Considering we had the cheapest room, known as the cosy double, we had ample room with a large bathroom. It was decorated very well and felt modern. Cosy lighting too.
Nothing to complain about.

The location of this hotel is beautiful. The views and feeling of quiet are lovely. You really feel like you've got away from it all in a luxury hotel. The breakfast was lovely, lots of choice and plentiful. We enjoyed the free use of the pool and the gym, both very good.
Our room was described as a cosy double, and it really was cosy! Not much room around the bed at all, and we were always tripping over our stuff. That said, booking this room, meant we could afford to stay in this hotel, so it was worth the small room.
The sauna is not great, not even warm as door doesn't shut properly and the steam room was broken, so don't book if these things are important to you.

Nice location. Rooms are tidy
Walls are paper thin, heard next rooms conversations clearly. Stayed in room 428.
Card which held as a deposit, full payment was taken before checkout.
Breakfast had run out of various foods before end of session.
Pool was freezing. No Hot tub. Steam room was out of order.
Heating / Air con didn’t work properly on our room.
Food in restaurant was cold.

The location and the grounds are very good
We spent Friday evening at the restaurant at Rutland Hall. It’s was that cold that the few people that was also eating in there was all sat with there coats on. I complain to a member of staff who did nothing about it.
The cleaners moved around the grounds pulling all their cleaning products in a trolley. This was very noisy at 630am, the staff would then stand outside our room talking.

Our cosy room was a little tired

Very roomy and well eqpt self catering accommodation looking out across Rutland Water. Adjacent car parking made the arrival and departure so much easier.
Restaurant and Leisure facilities well presented.
Just what you expect.

We stayed in the Windsor suite and it met all our needs to a high standard. Staff were friendly and attentive and couldn't do enough to make our stay special. Breakfast was good. Our experience in the evening for dinner was sadly the only thing that let out stay down.
We had a booking at the restaurant for our evening meal and sadly whilst the staff were lovely and helpful there were issues with what was available on the menu, identifying meals wrong, the food was nice but not exceptional as we expected from recommendations.

Stunning location, the staff were absolutely amazing. The 3 nights we stayed we had dinner in blossoms restaurant which we had to say was delicious and all the restaurant staff were absolutely amazing
Nothing really, we’ll definitely be booking again at some point

A lovely location and comfortable accommodation. Arrival and departure procedures were well conducted. The staff were friendly and helpful, which was a big plus.
The heating in the room was from heated pictures on the walls. On the second night, the remote would not turn the heating off, which spoiled a good nights sleep prior to travelling home.
The evening meals were tasty but too expensive.
Breakfast meals were ample but barely warm, which was disappointing.
5.0 / 10.0
The bed was extremely comfortable and the breakfast was really good.
Having opted for a room that was two up from basic, I didn’t expect to look out of the window onto a brick wall.
I expect a 4 * hotel to provide basic toiletries such as hair conditioner and body lotion. Only soap was provided.
The service in the overpriced restaurant was very poor.
6.0 / 10.0
Room small but expected that as it was a cosy room. My mothers accessible room was good and met her needs.
Unfortunately the experience for our evening meal was poor, although the staff pleasant but under staffed so service poor. We only had a light supper and it was ok.
Good breakfast and plenty of choice
Poor service in restaurant
