Rutland Hall Hotel & Spa

Had a couple of nights with friends at The Rutland Hotel. Room was clean lacking character but large and bed really comfy. Food and drink in the restaurant was good although a little pricey. Enjoyed the pool and spa also crazy golf was fun to do with our friends. Would stay here again.

Would love to return wonderful position at edge of lake with very friendly helpful staff. Excellent room and size. Great healthy breakfasts with many choices.

Kept awake in the early hours of the morning because the hotel allocated us a room in the middle of half a dozen rooms occupied by drunken, loud, rude guests. They knew beforehand where they were placing us. Also, as a pensioner I had to carry heavy items up and down three floors of stairs. Why reception didn’t tell us the lift was out of order when registering.

I stayed with a party of eighteen people and from the initial grooup booking problems arose. In fairness the accomodation was fine, the room, although small, was clean and fresh, and the food, although very nice, was on the expensive side. Breakfast arrangements were a tad chaotic. Evening meal service was not good. Hardly their fault, but I couldn't use the swimming pool as a smashed door had left glass in the pool and it was therefore closed for safety reasons. During checkout a number of guests were checking their bills due to errors. To sum up, a nice location but lacking in a number of other important areas. I won't be going back.
