We only stayed one night, two couples in two double rooms, great location in the centre of the town, place to park car while unloading bags and checking in right in front of the hotel, then a carpark alongside towards the back about a two minuete walk back to front door.
Nice rooms with comfortable beds on the ground floor, we had dinner in the restaurant that evening good service and reasonable price, then a good breakfast in the morning with fruit, cereal, juice, pastries, and several cooked breakfast opptions all includded in the price.
Would thoroughly recomend a stay here in a lovely corner of Yorkshire

Great location. Helmsley is beautiful.
Food at dinner was great. Breakfast not so much.
Found staff generally unfriendly, but this may be because they were busy. Still a smile or nod can go along way. Disappointed as previous stay few years ago was fantastic and a very different experience.
