Friendly, relaxed vibe. Lovely view from the room. Nice food in the pub itself in the evening with a fire. It is an Ideal location for Alston. Breakfast was lovely - plenty of choice. A friendly lady member of staff enthusiastically helped us find the car park. Comfy bed. This place suits the style of the town
Room 4 was unfortunately noisy - it is under the kitchen I think and there was a loud fan going off and on until 12am (don't think it can be helped).. Take earplugs if in this room to ensure a good sleep. Furniture could be more modern (tired looking 90s furniture) but was practical. Clean throughout. Don't expect modern and you'll be fine - it's oldy worldy accommodation
