Talbot Hotel Stillorgan

The location was good for my needs, and all of the staff I interacted with, were very good. The room was nice, with ac and coffee & tea provided, even though on a main road, it was very quiet.

I really dislike rain showers, women don’t like getting their hair wet, you run around the shower trying to wash and keep your hair dry. The housekeeping cart was in the hallway the entire time I was there, and the bags for the dirty linen were also left in the hallway, I thought that was odd, it looks messy.

The location is great and the staff are very friendly, the beds were comfortable and the food is good

The fixtures and fittings in the bedrooms are dated and showing signs of wear and tear and could do with being upgraded.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent value for money.

The lifts are very slow.

It has a big free car park and its location is convenient for getting into town, if you dont want to stay in town

I have stayed in nice rooms before at this hotel but the first room was not one of them. I was told by front desk i had been upgraded but I dont think that was true. The first room was small and noisy. The AC didnt cool the room properly and was leaking water all over the floor and if you opened the window you got the noise from all of the ACs outside. That made it unpleasant to sleep. We asked to change rooms and its fair to say that the front desk staff were not particularly cooperative in this regard. So its no surprise that the next room they tried to give us was even worse. It was again small and even noiser with the kitchen extractor fans right outside. Finally we got a 3rd room and this was in the old part of the hotel. The room was a decent size and it was quiet as it overlooked the car park. The headboard was smaller than the bed so one person sitting in bed had the edge of the board in their back. The furniture was dated and the room was clearly designed for one person not two, but hey we got a good nights sleep. I know the hotel can do better, but essentially they showed their true colours on this trip as previously my office has booked the hotel for me and this time i did it directly! For the same price I could have stayed at the St Helens hotel, so I doubt I will ever stay here again.
