The location of the hotel is excellent. The room upgrade was great too.

Very comfortable with quirky decor. Bedroom 208 above-average size with great air-con. Quiet. A channel list for the TV would have been helpful. Breakfast excellent. City centre location could not be beaten though overnight parking in a public multistorey car park not optimal. However, this was only two minutes walk from hotel. This hotel would be our first-choice option next time we visit Nottingham. Good value for money.
Lack of secure parking (but not a problem of the hotel, who gave a 20% reduction in the overnight parking bill). TV channels need a guide.

Location as close to event I went to
A Dirty, dated, extremely tired room which was very small & in need of an extreme clean / redecoration as not value for money.
No staff on reception when i went out or returned
I want to be contacted asap about this booking

Bed was comfy
Room was dated.. also room was tilted. Seemed to have a sloop in the middle. Wine stains on the wall. Shower water pressure was low, kept going cold. Toilet was close to wall/door so wasnt comfy to sit.

The room was very nice
Lack of soundproofing. Outside was very very noisy, but that is to be expected from a city centre location

We liked the quirkiness of the hotel and central location. The room was clean and tidy and a good size. Liked that catrons of water were provided in the room
Had to keep getting to door key re-set every tine we came back to our room, even though it wasnt stored by a phone. The bar was never open despite being advertised as being available on the website

Great location for an event we were attending. Beautiful period building with great facilities. Amazing staff, warm welcoming and fast check in, did their best to make sure we were as near to each other as possible as we booked two rooms. Would definitely go back.
Just a few little things that weren’t great unfortunately, hair in the bath plug hole, dust above the bed on a shelf/mirror, behind the toilet wasn’t clean, could do with a little maintenance.

Location was amazing
Hotel room absolutely tiny and nothing like the pictures advertised. The carpet and walls were filthy! Staff at breakfast very rude. Whilst waiting for the lift I heard a staff member tell the chef someone had complained as a lot of food was not ready so they asked how long it would take for more eggs and the chef said tell them to come see me when ever they are ready stupid! I feel this is disgusting and very unprofessional. Would not stay here again.

Staff were nice, water was warm in the shower (which was a good shower)
Booking for one night was very expensive - but the room was very tired, lacked space, bed was old, absolutely no view (not important but clearly meant you focus on the room which was already disappointing - not what we expected for the cost.

Hotel was clean, breakfast was great & the staff were super friendly and helpful
Only thing I can say is the bathroom was unbearably hot in our room, so much so we couldn’t have showers in the morning, we had to wait until we got home.

Perfect location close to everything but not too close it keeps you up with noise or night life
The lift squealing
The parking cost ÂŁ60 for 3 nights( a discount or exclusion would be a lot better and affordable)

Brilliant location. Quirky rooms. Good breakfasts. Super staff.
Shame that the bar no longer seems to be open. Tea, etc wasn’t topped up.

I loved the original features of this place. The fact it's the oldest hotel in Nottingham and the history behind it makes it a must to stay at least once for me. The staircase is beautiful and don't forget to look up on the stairs because the glass ceiling is immensely beautiful. The floors are uneven and in room 316 the floors are one a slant which added to the quirky nature of the room. The room was compact and comfortable. The bed was comfy, towels clean and the aircon fan was lovely as we like to sleep in a cold room. Great location, lovely brekkie. Enjoyed the stay, not sure it was worth what we paid but I suppose the location gives it the ÂŁ150 price tag.
Few things, the bathroom was tiny and the shower cubicle in turn was tiny. If I was a larger person it would of been a nightmare to shower in. The shower cubicle doors were off the runners so the doors didn't shut properly. Over all the bathroom needed and remodel and makeover. Once we had showered we noticed a sewage smell occasionally wafting out the bathroom. This grew worse over night and by the time we got back from breakfast the whole room stank of it. But it didn't impede our stay which was only for one night. We informed the staff and they were very apologetic.
Not that we were there to watch tv, but it would of been nice to have a few more channels.
A nice touch would of been is slots by the bed but again not a necessity, maybe we have been spoilt else where.

Distance from Motorpoint Arena.
All the Staff were pleasant, especially the young man on reception Thursday late evening, Thank you for your efforts.
Manager on Thursday was pleasant & professional.
Room was grubby and old, in serious need of refurbishment, which i was told would happen next year. Why have they waited, it needed doing way ago. Toilet wouldn't flush properly, despite speaking to Housekeeping nothing happened, in the end my husband managed to get it to flush by taking off the cistern lid! How is this hotel 4*? The accessible shower has a serious trip hazard. I did during the night 3 times! Tiles badly fixed around shower thermostat. Basin and shelf sloped so badly, nothing stayed on the shelf! Shower head was limescale encrusted - nasty! We live in hard water area, my shower head gets cleaned every time used, so no limescale, not tricky, by the way, I'm the one with mobility issues!
Bed, TV, safe, wardrobe worked ok. 2 seats helpful and decent desk with mirror above. No USB charging points in room at all.
Breakfast - staff polite and cheerful. Only filter coffee, not even a coffee machine... I wasn't happy! Half the breakfast items were either missing, in process of being cooked to refresh. Should have been ordered when 2 or 3 left, knowing how many people would be eating that day. I had to ask for croissants to be refreshed! Then they weren't fresh. I was beyond cheesed off with the whole experience.
Spoke with Manager, she gave us a 45% discount. Honestly if I hadn't paid on the Wed evening, I would have refused to pay. ÂŁ120 per night for an actual 4* room is ok. This fell way short in my opinion.

We were in room 202, which was a bit noisy from the ducting outside and the view was a brick wall

The staff were incredible the extra option to have a balloon for my son. The lovely fresh room beds all set up for the children.
Only down side was the fact we had our parking stamped but didnt work and got charged.

The location was perfect for me as it was close to local amenities. The staff went above and beyond their duty to help me and my poorly daughter which I appreciated massively, they were very friendly and accommodating
Not sure about the view of the pidgeon cemetery and I would of liked bigger cups for the coffee.

Very good location at the heart of the city centre for those who like staying central. Nice breakfast and huge comfortable bed...
The noise in the early morning coming from the floor above while people waking up and walking around etc otherwise not a major issue.
