Extremely disappointing experience - does not match the Belmond brand

We chose this hotel expecting a true Belmond-level experience, especially considering the price and reputation. Unfortunately, the reality was very different. While the hotel itself looks pleasant inside, the surrounding area and beach conditions are far below what one would expect from a luxury resort. The beach is public, which is understandable, however plastic waste and visible trash in the sand and near the waterline were present daily, and no regular cleaning was noticeable. For a property positioned at this level, basic beach maintenance should not be an issue. Service was also inconsistent. During breakfast, I had to wait an unreasonably long time for simple orders , on one occasion, I never received my double espresso at all. This lack of attention does not match the standards associated with the Belmond name. Another significant issue was the mosquito situation. No electric repellents or preventive measures were provided in the room. In other hotels of similar (and even lower) category, this is standard. Here, guests are left to deal with it on their own, which directly affects comfort, especially when traveling with a small child. Overall, the experience does not match how the property is presented online, nor the expectations set by the brand and price point. We decided to leave early and moved to another resort, where the difference in comfort, cleanliness, and service was immediately obvious. This review is written calmly and honestly to help future guests make an informed decision.

The stay was disappointing and did not reflect the quality or value we expected for the price paid.

Staff was great and positive.

The hotel has not aged well. While it aims to offer a traditional Balinese atmosphere, it feels very outdated, especially when compared to many much better hotels in Bali available at significantly lower budgets. Most of the facilities felt old, and unfortunately the textiles were particularly disappointing. Towels, linens and other fabrics all felt worn and unclean, which strongly affected our overall comfort. The wooden elements throughout the property were also visibly aged and poorly maintained. We chose this hotel expecting it to be a place where we would happily spend our time and barely want to leave. Instead, we ended up spending our days driving two to three hours just to avoid staying at the hotel. In the end, we genuinely regretted our decision to stay here, especially considering the price we paid.

The resort is beautiful, gardens immaculate. Perfect location directly on the beach but the beach was littered with rubbish. The staff were wonderful.

The villas/rooms are a bit tatty and tired. Paintwork mucky on the corners, not what you expect when paying such a high rate.

Can’t say enough good things.

What a wonderful place! Until reaching this hotel, I had been disappointed that many hotels didn’t have much soul - this hotel proved me wrong and embodies everything you look for in Balinese hospitality. Beautifully kept, traditional, luxurious and staffed with kind and wonderful people. Very spacious rooms, incredibly clean. Wonderful service and the food at breakfast and in the restaurant was some of the best we had in 3 weeks in Bali. Some exceptional staff members, including Winwin and Jian and Gude in the restaurant and Sudarma and Topan in recreation.

Perfect holiday start

The room with private pool was amazing, very comfortable and quiet. The beach beds have a little button to call for service, which is a nice little luxury! Staff was exceptionally kind and professional. Breakfast buffet was also amazing. The beach was lovely

Don't go again until it is renovated!

Staff was great. Pool was good. Food at the beach was good but particularly dinner menu and ambiance was amazing.

This hotel is Belmond. We expected more but unforturnately don't take this into consideration. Rooms were dark, even no daylight window for some rooms. Old furnitures were dissapointing. Pool at the garden is useless. It is small and there's dust on the water.

No gym and wasn’t able to do any yoga / meditation as there was no one available on the day. Not a big fan of the beach though was kept clean in front of hotel and kids enjoyed playing in the waves.

Amazing stay, romantic, great quality, White Lotus vibes

- Staff is simply incredible, very warm and attentive. They inform you about every little detail and take care of everything. - Food, both the breakfast and dinners felt very high quality. Everything is fresh, tasty and simply top notch - Pool area: simply amazing, both aestheticly and in terms of service. Staff and bar menu is just one button press away. The coctails are great, the pool water is warm (this is something that so many other Bali hotels don’t have), and the beach beds are also amazing with different options for every day — facing the beach, facing the pool, pool tents. - Beach dinners are worth a separate shoutout, doesn’t get much more romantic than that. Also comes with different programmes in the evening — traditional dances, live music performance..

- The rooms: while the rest of facilities feel amazing, our room was a bit dated and could really use a refresh - The beach: while the beach right in front of the hotel is relatively clean, is not exactly up to western standards. Some plastic, occasional dog poop, etc. This is a bigger problem in Bali however, so I think the hotel is trying to handle this, but a simple 1-2 extra hours every day cleaning the sand in front of the hotel would make a huge difference - We did catch some random items and charges on our dinner bills (we were on half board). And while these amounts are relatively insignificant (15-25 Euros), it does leave a weird feeling.

A luxurious, Balinese oasis of peace!

They truly made an effort to keep the authenticity of the local architecture and experience. We were in awe at our Presidential suite and mesmerised to see their own temple and their pool which resembles a purification temple. Staff is exceptional, alongside their varied cuisine. Would love to go back!

We had a fantastic stay at Jimbaran Puri. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, which made all the difference on our first trip with our 1-year-old daughter. They made us feel so comfortable and cared for throughout our stay. The resort is very baby-friendly—with high chairs at restaurant as well as in the rooms, a perfect baby pool, and wide lawns for little ones to run around. Upon request, they even arranged baby-safe detergent for laundry service, which was really kind. Our room was spacious, clean, and felt truly comfortable. But the highlight was the staff, who went above and beyond—including gifting our daughter a handmade turtle for her birthday. We felt pampered, relaxed, and will definitely be back!!

For a beachfront property, with such amazing hospitality, and comfortable amenities - it should be rated MUCH HIGHER!

The perfect vacation

Jimbaran Puri rests upon one of the best and safest spot on the coastline for swimming in the ocean. The beach is clean with plenty of available sunbeds. As a lovely touch, the staff bring each guest chilled water in signature thermoses both to the beach and the pool. The hotel is designed like a Balinese village, with individual villas connected by beautifully maintained paths, small temple structures and Balinese architectural elements. The grounds are lush and full of tropical plants, with frangipani trees and blooming lotuses adding to the serene atmosphere. The villas differ in size and style. Our initial villa felt dark, but the staff responded quickly and relocated us to a bright one. Daily afternoon tea is delivered to the villa, accompanied by elegant desserts. Housekeeping comes twice a day, with evening turndown service that includes closing shutters and preparing the bed. The mattresses are new and extremely comfortable. Breakfasts feature a wide selection of local fruits and delicious French croissants. What stood out most was the hotel’s general manager, Charles. He is highly professional, attentive, and genuinely involved. From early morning, he personally walks the property, checking every detail and supporting the staff. The team is friendly, helpful, and clearly takes pride in their work. Jimbaran Puri offers a calm, well-managed and beautiful place to rest, with a team that truly cares about guest experience.

Belmond ...it's a beautiful thing!

Our first stay at the Belmond resort and we loved it!!! The photos do not do it justice, better than expected, which is always a great bonus. Such a relaxing, spacious yet intimate soothing place, the beach, the gardens, the amazing giant size pool. We were welcomed and acknowledged for our wedding anniversary and invited to drinks with GM on our first night, also met some beautiful staff members. Cottages are huge and beautifully decorated in traditional Balinese decor, our only issues were the noisy air con and light switches, which were an inconvenience from your bed. Minor. Breakfast was delicious, great buffet variety, as was balinese coffee, loved coming each morning. Sunset drinks on the beach were also fantastic, beautiful seating options, great way to begin our holiday, supported by the attentive (not obtrusive) service displayed by all staff. Another example of this resort's service relates to my enquiry about yoga on offer. Given the nyepi day of silence this was cancelled, which I respected. However, manager on duty, night of 27 March was upset by this, he called me to say he rescheduled to next available morning, as a private class. Blown away with this insightful service, I'm so sorry I did not catch staff member's name to thank 🙏 Our bonus experience this visit to Bali was the cultural and spiritual nyepi, Balinese new year. So special to witness the magnificent talent, color, and noise of ogoh ogoh street parade, our location perfect. The ogoh ogoh display at our resort was made by head of security, Sumarja, it took him each weekend over 3 months to make, using discarded leaves from the resort gardens and sliced up limes from the bar, what craftsmanship!!! Nyepi, the day of silence was not an issue when confined to this resort, unfortunately the dinner for this event did not meet our expectations, having said this, the chef was genuinely interested in our feedback next morning, thank you.

Second time at Puri Jimbaran. Just a fantastic place. It has everything to feel good. Super beach, super pool, super breakfast, super rooms and super employees. Travelled with the family including a small kid (less than 1 year). The staff did everything to make us feel good. They prepared special food for the kid at our request. Thank you Puri Jimbaran! We will be back!!

The pool in our Vila and our own butler. Being right on the beach. Lovely breakfast overlooking the pool and beach. Excellent quiet spot out of busy Kuta. Just like being on a cruise ship with the turn down service twice a day. Nothing was a problem. Villa was well appointed with everything you could ever need.

One of the BEST hotels we stayed in

BEST bed, BEST shower, BEST pool, BEST breakfast, BEST service and one of the nicest hotels I've stayed in general. The staff are really professional, and attentive, and nice, it was such a pleasure to be around them. The room has everything you can even possibly think of, from the small things such as a basket for the beach, a flashlight, an alarm clock, etc. and up to the big TV, big bed, nice couches, etc. Beautiful room and the hotel is located on the beach so the sitting area outside next to the beach and pool area was really nice. We had dinner at the premises and it was also good, with an authentic show of dancers and music. You definitely get what you are paying for!

Though it was nice and the staff was professional, the massage and spa were really overpriced. Besides that, there is nothing else I can think of. I wish we could have stayed longer!

The food at this hotel is delicious (breakfast buffet, lunch from bar, dinner). We could taste the high quality on the ingredients and every choice from the menu was a delight! The whole hotel area is gorgeous, the pool, the gardens and the dinning areas. The hotel staff are very kind and always helpful, made us feel at home!
