Good value especially considering the seafront location.

The staff were helpful, the decor was modern and fresh and the breakfast was better than expected with the exception of the filter coffee which was very weak, 'Tea Drinkers coffee'

It wasn't a problem for us but there is no lift.

The location and the staff. Very helpful and professional.

No bedside lights. Just one big light, showing the bright bulb. I want to read in bed. I don't want to disturb my husband. I don't want to get out of bed to turn the light off. No chest of drawers, clothes were left on the floor of the wardrobe. Black out blinds rattled all night but we had to have the windows open because the heating was on full. Thermostat was broken. Shelves needed in the bathroom. No light next to mirror for make up application. Food offering ended at 7.30 pm!

Attending Custom House ( 20 minute walk) for a show and this hotel provided us with a good base, staff lovely !

Location and the staff were lovely and helpful. Breakfast was okay, sausages were bland but I’m being picky😜

Our room was so hot, couldn’t turn the thermostat down and the bar closed at 10pm but this didn’t stop us enjoying our one night

Decent 3 star hotel in a good location. Stay were really welcoming

Location was great as where the staff. Hotel was clean and we had a really good night when we stayed. Jay Oliver was especially nice, he was the barman on our first night and served our breakfast the next morning. He also made some really good recommendations

The bedroom was a bit soulless, just a bed, tv and a couple of bedside cabinets and a small dressing table. Wardrobe was just a rack with hangers on

Stay for a cycle event 9-11th January

Our 2nd time staying here and really can't fault it, especially the staff who are so helpful and friendly, excellent location and free car parking too, we will definitely come back again!

The only little thing was our room had a very squeaky floor, it didnt bother us but I was worried the floor below were hearing it!

Location The downstairs of the hotel was inviting Parking facilities

The room looked nothing like the photos featured on booking.com. The room was basic and dated. No colour or decor like the photos. The toilet made a horrendous noise for a long time after flushing. The stairs and corridor of the property were unkempt, carpets were dirty. I think the £100 reservation cost on arrival is unnecessary.

Lovely break, brilliant breakfast fantastic staff.

Staff are excellent and couldn't do enough to please . Extremely welcoming.

This is not a complaint ! But the radiator could not be turned down or off and the room was far to warm to sleep in. So the young man on the reception quickly transferred us to another room and we had a very comfy night. Thanks so much .

Nice hotel needs more accessible ootions

The location was excellent well placed with travel options close by

In the main part of the hotel there was very little accessibility options such as a lift which did not impact me or my partner at our visit but if we were with our son it would be. Our room was accessible with a walk in shower and so on.

Main hotel good, annex very poor.

Main hotel is clean and comfortable, staff excellent.

Ii have stayed in the main hotel previously and was very happy, this time however I was in a separate annex which had no heating and had to walk through the car park in the rain to get to the restaurant.

Good location and Price

A pleasant place and in a great location if visiting South Shields. Hotel is well situated by the coast (great for walks) and opposite theme park (if interested), but no noise. Also easy walk to park and bars restaurants. Ample and free parking, simple check in. Good Price for the scale and location of hotel

Rooms are a little dated now - clean, but a little tired. And carpets need replacing. Breakfast is hearty, but a little over priced. Bar and restaurant rooms are not very welcoming to be honest (although I was out of season). But plenty of great options close by

Ideal for an overnight stay and will stay again.

Stayed in the annexe. Room was at ground level and very quiet. Comfortable bed and large bath room. Good supply of hot water and very good over the bath shower. Good parking which is free for guests. Excellent WiFi reception. There is an air conditioning unit in the room.

We would have preferred carpeting in the bedroom, so slippers are a must. The c/h radiators didn’t work, but a rather noisy 3kw fan heater provided soon brought the room up to temperature. Only one bed side locker in our room with a dining chair at the other side.

Don’t stay in the Annexe. You want to overlook the wonderful park or sea front and attractions.

It was clean modern and the staff were excellent until the water feature but that was down to the building not the staff the breakfast was great very tasty

Very dated hotel

The location is good

The bedroom and bathroom are very dated. A large rip in the bathroom floor where a major leak must have occurred in the past and not repaired. Shower in the bath not to my liking Large Hole in the bedroom carpet. Bed was small but comfortable. Hotel bar seems to close very early.

There was - (and when we left still is as I wasn’t touching it) open cooked chicken in the drawer in the room, the radiator doesn’t turn on as the knob to turn it on has been previously broken and then repaired but is still broken, the shower leaks on to the bathroom floor.

Our room had a few cobwebs and edges of the carpet were not very clean, the stair carpet looked quite grubby and in need of a deep clean.

We had a lovely stay at the sea hotel. Rooms were lovely and clean. We ate in the bar in the evening, the food was great. Lots of choice for breakfast, really nice. We’ve already booked again for next year.
