The hotel room was uncomfortable and uninviting .

The bar / pub vibe is good

The room unwelcoming , it was old and shabby . The bed was uncomfortable - you could feel the springs . The towel rail didn’t heat up . The extraction fan in the bathroom didn’t work . There was a constant fan like noise throughout the night . Poor breakfast and lukewarm warm tea .

Wonderful

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Hotel has a great atmosphere with super friendly staff plus excellent communication. The room was comfortable and warm. The continental breakfast included was delicious which was a great bonus.

I would stay again.

The hotel was easy to find and perfect that it has its own car park. All the staff were lovely throughout. The stone baked pizza I had in the pizzeria was amazing.

I had a room overlooking the petrol station, it was a little noisy through the night because of this. But it wouldn’t put me off staying here again.

Comfortable hotel and friendly, helpful staff. Would stay there again

The evening meal was amazing. Great quality and generous portions. Great selection of tea bags in the rooms, plenty of coffee and milk too.

Breakfast wasn't great. Pretty unimaginative and the preprepared tea and coffee in flasks were stewed and the 'hot' water was luke warm. The waiter kindly replaced this with hot when asked.

Had wanted to stay for a while and was disappointed.

Breakfast was great. Evening meal was lovely - shame re the seating location.

Evening meal, although lovely, was in an awful back room. The bedroom had a strange and unpleasant smell. Condensation in windows and mound in the bedroom. The mattress needs replacing. Furniture in bedroom was dirty and stained.

We were a party of ten guests, and all ten of us were delighted!

The hotel itself is in the centre of the lovely little town of Belper, A former coaching inn, it has been very sympathetically modernised. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed, the breakfast was faultless, but the real star attraction is the wonderful restaurant. It's worth the trip on its own - really good menu, but even better cooking!

A little traffic noise in ther morning but to be expected in a town centre hotel.

Location and choice of things to do not only in the hotel but around Belper. Had a lovely stay and the staff were great.

Nothing really. Car park was small but managed to get a car parking space but were there early. There was a Christmas party on which we knew about but quite enjoyed the vibes of the different things going on in the hotel. Had a nice continental breakfast which was served with a smile. All good and would stay again.

Good location for centre of Belper. Right next to garage but no noise and our room was on that side. Room was big with sofa. Booked large double Bed comfy, sheets good, staff great. The hotel has live music in bar and we went December so Xmas party night. All noise stopped by midnight. Good breakfast and staff great

Windows were original and condensation was bad. Heating was good, so compensated but needs double glazing or dehumidifier

Great location with parking but unfortunately very noisy

Location of hotel is in the centre of Belper and has a secure car park. Good breakfast choice. Not ideal for anyone with mobility issues, stairs and trip hazards.

Beds were very soft and uncomfortable. Noise was exceptionally bad, do not stop at this hotel if you want a quiet location and an undisturbed sleep. Hotel is basic and overpriced at £119 for one night's stay with the cost of breakfast on top of this. Dirty coffee cup in room. No full length mirror. No coat hooks for wet coats.

It was easy to locate and with good parking. A complimentary continental breakfast is provided which was very good - a cooked breakfast is available is required but needs to be paid for.

A pleasant stay with good meal

Easy parking and next door to petrol station with spar. Bar and food was good with friendly attentive staff. Room spacious with excellent shower.

Reception staff could have been a bit more welcoming and friendly, the latter particularly in the morning. To be really picky once you go through the doors to the accommodation there is a lack of attention to detail with cupboards doors open, and wear and tear and scuffs on walls; rooms the same.

Wouldn’t stay again

Good restaurant and wood fired pizzas and bar staff are great, easy to park

Smelly room hadn’t been aired, right next to busy garage so really noisy. Spent ages trying to leave a card deposit even though I had already paid, had spent £100 on food and drink and was just heading to bed. Let me off in the end but was unnecessary. Not cheap for a tiny single bed smelly box room very basic

A lovely warm welcome from the lady at reception, splendid comfortable room and (oh joy!) a proper bath in the bathroom. I enjoyed a great night’s sleep. Breakfast was superb – the cooked breakfast is very good value at £10.50 and the nice chap looking after the breakfast room was very welcoming. There’s a good car park round the back behind the jet petrol station which is free. The hotel is located close to the excellent Belper High Street which has lots of interesting shops. I will definitely stay here again when visiting the area.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay

The room was clean, cool and comfortable. All the staff we met were polite, friendly and helpful (particularly the cleaning staff). The continental breakfast was very well presented and when I asked if it was possible for more fruit it was no problem. The chef made another delicious platter of assorted fresh fruit.

Not as good as it was in July

Comfortable bed in a spacious room, big bathroom

Noisy road, banging pipes, squeaky floor and doors, bin not emptied. Room above stage and live act on very late and noise from bar until 1am.
