Location is great with a stunning scenery. Food at the dinner restaurant is very good. It’s also walking distance to Platja d’Aro restaurants. Very nice and helpful people at reception desk. Sea is perfect for snorkeling specially the bay behind the beach bar with lots of small fishes but is not easy to get there from the hotel.

For those who expected more than a swimming pool: There is no other way to the beach as to walk narrow cliff wooden stairs which is rather for fit people. There is no umbrella sun bed service at the beach so you can be there only with own towel in full sun.

The setting of the hotel is magical. Perched on top of a cliff, between two beautiful coves, the location is exceptional. We spent a lovely evening there. We arrived too late for the main restaurant and ended up having some tapas on the terrace. It was a balmy evening, and the hotel was wonderfully quiet and peaceful. Sitting outside overlooking the surroundings felt every bit as special as the location suggests.

Unfortunately, the experience did not consistently live up to either the extraordinary setting or the very high price. At check-in, we were told that we had been upgraded. However, we could not understand what the supposed upgrade consisted of. The room we received appeared to correspond exactly to the category we had booked and paid for. We found it puzzling to be told that we had received an upgrade when, as far as we could establish, we had simply received the room category we had reserved. Breakfast was extremely crowded and felt hectic. The atmosphere was closer to that of a conventional holiday resort than the experience we had expected given the hotel's setting and price. The swimming pool was similar. We were surprised to find there was a queue to enter it, and once inside it was extremely busy. There is nothing wrong with a hotel being family-friendly, but it made the pool anything but relaxing. At this price point, we had expected considerably more tranquillity and a more refined atmosphere. The food was another disappointment. Although we loved sitting on the terrace late in the evening, the food itself was decidedly underwhelming. Neither the picanha nor the ceviche we ordered was particularly good, which again felt out of step with the prices and the otherwise spectacular surroundings.

Location and quick problem solving from the staff

The facilities are outdated and poorly repaired. No soundprouf of the rooms so you hear everything going outside. Basic beds. Breakfast was missing freshness from pastries. It’s advertised as 4 stars but it doesn’t feel like it.
