For a first time visit to St Gallen, the hotel (though expensive), was comfortable

I was with my kids and they loved the size of the room which was spacious enough for them to run around

We found a left over coca cola bottle and a bottle, so the cleaners need to do a better job under the beds. The cleaners seemed not to check areas like microwave to clean.

Reliable comfort and unbeatable breakfast in a central location

Great stay at the Radisson! This time, I chose a reliable chain hotel where I knew what to expect—and location was key due to my scheduled meetings. The room was spacious, though slightly dated, but still comfortable. Breakfast was absolutely outstanding. Highly recommended if you’re not set on finding a boutique spot in the old town but prefer something practical and dependable.

Nice hotel, but experience would be much improved by the presence of a sufficient number of competent and trained staff.

Well situated to walk/bus into St Gallen. Very clean and well presented. Staff in bar and restaurant area very polite, helpful and customer orientated.

“Gym” was actually a few pieces of cardio equipment in a corridor. Breakfast was expensive at 30CHF pp. One female member of staff at reception was very rude and inept. Took the hotel multiple attempts to resolve a fundamental problem with our room.

Recommended modern hotel

This is a modern hotel about 10-15 minutes' walk from the centre of town. We had a superior room which came with complimentary water and a kettle and coffee machine. Great air-conditioning and shower. Immacutely clean. Comfortable bed. Quiet. Has a great restaurant and bar. Easy to get to on public transport. The bus station is opposite the train station and jump on a number 3 or 4. We were also given a voucher for free public transport during our 3 day stay.

The two pillows provided were too soft for us, but additional pillows were provided on request.

The foyer & reception was nice and welcoming. The room comfortable from outside was no disturbing sounds.

The bathroom was horrible. The shower bath was difficult to get into & the glass door didn’t stop much water - so the floor was very wet. The toilet was hidden behind the door. One bathroom light was broken & had electrical cables visible. If you slipped in the shower you would have grabbed hold of this broken lamp & would probably be electrocuted! Noisy corridor- the door didn’t appear to stop much sound from the hall.

Really nice check in lady, comfortable beds, late check out available and helpful staff. Good location close to city center (easily walkable).

Mini fridge was "free" but the 2 free waters inside were not really cooled. The shower door was out of glass and creaked really loudly when opened or closed. I know small details but those would improve the stay :)

Close to bus stop & train station; we got the Tourist Pass (when you stay 3 nights or more) and can use the bus and trolley for free in the whole city and part of trains.

Good location and view

Somehow, I was offered a free upgrade to a suite. It had a living room, dining table, bedroom, separate bathroom and separate toilet. It had a door that could be opened to enter the balcony, which had tables and chairs. The view from he balcony was splendid with a sight of the steepled church at the city centre.

The wooden furniture looked dated - it was not high class antique wood stuff but probably cheap 1970s or 1980s. It was functional, so I cannot say it was a problem. There is a casino at one entrance door, so you are not sure you are at the right place.

Nice spacious room

Not enough staff led to long waits at reception. The shower window is weird if sharing, needs a simple blind on the outside. Not a cheap option, but it is Switzerland!

Very quiet and nice. Beautiful. I've stayed at the Raddison Blu in Romania, Canada, and now a location in Switzerland. I must say, I have grown to love them as they are the best value.

It's easy to remember what one doesn't like as we tend to naturally focus on the negative. The staff was too new or wasn't trained properly on how to refund the breakfast. I didn't ask to be charged for it and I was checking out before breakfast was being served. They couldn't refund the breakfasts and I didn't have time to wait.
