My experience on the first day of my stay was extremely disappointing. After housekeeping finished cleaning the room, their cleaning tools were left behind, there was a significant amount of hair still on the floor, and even the bathrobes were left in a messy condition.
More seriously, after the room was cleaned that day, my sunglasses, which I had left inside my bag, went missing and were suspected to have been stolen. This made me feel very uneasy. I reported the issue to the front desk for several consecutive days, but the hotel never proactively updated me on the progress of their investigation and showed no real effort to resolve the matter. I had to go to the front desk every day to ask for updates, and each time I was simply told, “We couldn’t find it,” with no explanation, no apology, and no follow-up solution.
If you do not want to risk losing your belongings while traveling in France and receive no proper assistance, I strongly recommend avoiding this hotel. With this level of service and crisis management, I do not believe it deserves a five-star rating.

The staff were very kind. The doormen were lovely. The food was nicely prepared. The room was extremely quiet.
Our room had an enormous couch, which is nice, but it took up most of the limited space. I was surprised that the carpets were so stained. There was dust hanging from the ceiling in the entryway. The shower curtain didn’t extend into the tub, so the water dripped all over the floor of the tiny space.

The décor was lovely, the hotel was clean, and the location was superb.
Aside from one unpleasant experience with a staff member at breakfast, the rest of the team were excellent — particularly a young dark-haired gentleman on the front desk, I believe named Charles. He was extremely helpful and professional, a real asset to the hotel, and certainly deserving of recognition or promotion.
The pillows weren’t great. They were like inflatable airbags of which I had to release the air inside to make them comfortable.
The shower tray was blocked and would quickly fill up with water and not drain.
The breakfast experience was extremely disappointing overall.
Day one: We weren’t given a menu and had to take one from another table. After being left waiting for around 20 minutes with no service, we had to ask what we needed to do. The server came across as rude and unhelpful. While we continued to wait, arguments from the kitchen could be clearly heard by guests. In the end, we left without eating, having waited a total of 45 minutes. It was certainly not a good start to the day.
Day two: Service was much quicker and more efficient, however the breakfast itself was unfortunately stone cold.
After raising our concerns, a wonderful gentleman named Charles handled the situation professionally and ensured everything was resolved.

Poor pre-arrival communication, with no response to emails regarding anniversary arrangements.
Lack of attention to special occasion recognition, with no meaningful anniversary gesture or follow-up during the stay.
Weak check-in experience, including a very brief room tour and no explanation of lighting or air-conditioning controls.
Service and detail lapses, such as a wrongly addressed welcome letter that was never corrected and missing in-room amenities (hairdryer, teaspoons, iron/steamer, toiletries).
Housekeeping inconsistencies, including non-replacement of items and faulty equipment being provided.
In room breakfast service issues, with missing condiments, utensils, small portions, and overall disorganisation.
Poor internal communication, highlighted by late delivery of important New Year’s Eve disruption information.
Comfort and practicality gaps, including a cold bathroom and very limited wardrobe space.
Inconsistent service levels, with noticeably better attentiveness only at check-out.
Overall, the stay lacked the service consistency, anticipation, and attention to detail expected of a Michelin-key hotel at this price point.

The Balzac Hotel is simply exceptional. I stayed here with my husband for a short honeymoon and the staff made our stay indeed special by upgrading us for a larger room. I loved the style of the hotel, every detail is thought-through. Gigantic bathroom, comfy bed, amazing breakfast and bar. I am really looking forward to coming back once again to enjoy this place!
Very minor thing - but the floor in the shower cabin was a bit slippery which might be dangerous. But this is a really minor thing that did not affect our stay;)

A truly exceptional stay - Parisian elegance at its finest!
Hotel Balzac exceeded all expectations. The interior design, architecture and atmosphere are simply stunning - a perfect blend of refined classic charm and modern luxury. The location couldn’t be better, just steps away from the magic of Champs-Élysées, yet peaceful and intimate.
The breakfast and dining experiences were outstanding and the service impeccable throughout our stay.

Even when we faced a small issue with our luggage at the end, the whole team stepped in and took care of everything with warmth and professionalism.

If there is anything to improve, we would have appreciated a more refined welcome - a glass of champagne instead of juice would have matched the luxurious atmosphere.
Additionally, smoother routines for final invoicing and better control of the luggage storage would make the experience absolutely flawless.
With just these small enhancements, Hotel Balzac would, without a doubt, become the very best hotel in Paris.

During our check-in It was provided to me to complete on Ipad a form with information like email,
name, phone etc. There was a window to choose If during out stay there is a special ocasion. I chose ‘Birthday’ and complete the form with my wish, that I would like to make a surprise for my husband because he is having bday on the 2nd of Oct with the clarification for balloons and cake. It was perfect chance for me to tell the staff via the form in the Ipad and not to hiding from him and go to the reception because it suppose to be a surprise. So the 2nd of Oct came, we left the hotel as usual for a shopping, came back around 5-7PM and nothing was done!!! Even at the check-out I told the receptionist that I am completely disappointed that no one responded to my request, and she just laughted at me ironically that i didnt specify what i want, and i told her to look at the Ipad and she totally ignored me.
One more thing: everyday when we wanted the receptionist to call a taxi for us they did it absolutely cold, stoneface, not once the concierge escorted us to the taxi.. I think that the accomodation is nice but the staff and the people are arrogant and not proffesional.
For so many years we are celebrating our birthdays away from our home and this is the first hotel that did not response at wall.
The first day we ordered at the lobby to the waiter/ bartender a cappuccino and hazelnut coffee.
He brought us 2 cappuccinos (my husband never drinks cappuccino) and when I asked why and where is the hazelnut coffee and in the menu there isanother info about the coffee, he told me: sorry it is almost the same and i cant make it and left. And the cocktail that i ordered was a disaster. He was also arrogant and not polite and the cappuccino was watery and tasteless.
The only polite people were the housekeeping.
This is the first hotel that we felt like an intruders.

The room service lost my earrings, and the staffs are irresponsible, they tried to avoid providing a solution by refusing discussion and not replying email.
Also, the bathroom floor is extremely slippery.

Hotel Balzac is the near the center and main street. The staff is friendly and willing to help. The whole surrounding is nice.
We didn't have the room that we saw in the photos (205). Instead of a sofa, we had one small armchair. Some of the electricity plugs didn't work including the TV.
