Great Stay!

Great central location for getting around and the reception team were friendly and helpful pointing out places of interest. The rooms were very clean and the beds super comfy! Really good buffet breakfast in comfortable surroundings with a good selection of food which is regularly replenished.

Great location, great breakfast, the rest was underwhelming.

The breakfast was amazing.

The room was small and it was supposed to have a desk. I had to ask to have a desk brought to my room. There wasn't room, but it squeezed in. The bed hurt my back and the heating was on all the time. I had to open the window to get to a sleepable temperature. The toilet seat was falling off and plastic, very cheap.

I liked the central location.

I had booked a « superior/premier » room and was therefore surprised to find that the furniture consisted of two refrigerators. The full size one served as the TV stand.

It was a trouble free stay, easy to book and suited us very well.

Excellent location close to the stations and the Grand Place . We did not have breakfast. The room was comfortable and clean. The hairdryer didn't work! That was my only complaint.

Great location, nice hotel and friendly staff

The location of this hotel is perfect. Very central and everything is easily accessible. Also very quiet in the evenings, although plenty of bars and restaurants right next door. Room was fine - beds very comfortable, although pillows not great. Very clean throughout the hotel. Staff very helpful and friendly - and responded very quickly to questions before we arrived. We were able to leave our luggage for 6 hours after check out. Overall the decor is a little tired and could do with updating, but I would definitely stay her again. About 10 minutes walk from Eurostar and 5 minutes from other stations.

Pillows on the beds not very comfortable. Rooms quite hot - air con could not be turned below 19 degrees which affected our sleep as it was too warm.

Perfect choice for a short and affordable stay

Perfect location, just a few steps from the central train station and right next to the Grand’ Place and the old town. Stylish old building with art nouveau elements. Everything was accessible and comfortable. The room was rather small but it had a wonderful view over the tops of the houses and a huge bathroom. The refrigerator and the coffee machine were a plus. The personnel was extra smiley and helpful.

The furniture and the upholstery were rather dated.

The welcome arrangements by hotel management system for those arriving late (due to e.g train delays). Unnecessary bureaucracy and failure to plan for putting the customer first. Thank you to all staff for their patience in sorting this general management issue.

I wanted some green salad as the breakfast. I used to travel a lot, and need to take care of my health during my trip. I try to eat salad as much as I can, and it helps to have salad if possible for thefuture.

Lovely characterful hotel situated right in the heart of the old city.

We went by Eurostar. The hotel is a 15 minute walk from the Eurostar station and situated right in the historic heart of Lille. We had a superior room that was a good size with a balcony. Lovely old style hotel but well maintained. We went out for meals as so many good places nearby. The Opera was right next door. Would definitely stay here again. Staff very nice.

The wifi log in was quite complicated so we didn't bother as only there 2 nights.

One Night Stay ok but I wont stay again

The size of the Junior Suite Room was very good, the view from the room and the client service at reception were magnificent, but we found the fridge bar empty. Parking outside to move your items from the car was handy, and hotel is in an excellent position in the town. Bed was comfortable and large and in room coffee machine and a good-sized bathroom

My hotel phone room did not work, no instructions on how to call reception as standard call button did not work on room phone, hot water failed as never had that happen in 35 years of using hotels, the room was not fully clean, the fridge bar was empty, the room decor was ok but not pleasing to the eye, the cabinets were painted but a long time ago and there we chips seen in places. This is a very good 3-star hotel in my and was a 4-Star 10 years ago

The room was smaller, less clean, and more outdated than expected, which was disappointing for the price.

The location was perfect.

My experience was disappointing due to several issues with my room. Upon entering, I found a half-eaten sandwich and an open carton of milk left in the fridge by the previous guests, which I found extremely unhygienic. In addition, the overall cleanliness of the room was subpar and did not meet the hygiene standards one would expect. Furthermore, the electrical sockets were poorly fitted, causing my charger to frequently disconnect. Another major concern was the discrepancy between the online photos and reality—the room and bathroom were much smaller, outdated, and clearly not well maintained. I was also dismayed to find that in the bathroom, the small magnifying mirror was hanging downward and appeared to be broken. This is particularly disappointing given the price charged for the room. I expected a much higher standard based on the hotel’s presentation. I would appreciate a response regarding what measures will be taken to improve the quality and hygiene of the accommodations.

A very nice hotel is a very interesting city in the midst of renovation.

The staff was wonderful; very helpful; accommodating and knowledgeable. The rooms were comfortable and I would have liked another pillow but overall just fine.

It was a very nice hotel and I would have to be truly grumpy to come up with complaints. Lille was a mess with construction (roads, etc.) and it made getting around interesting.

Excellent accomodation place for first-time visit to Lille

1. Excellent, friendly greeting on arrival. 2. The location for a first-time visitor to Lille could hardly have been better. 3. Room was comfy and clean and had very witty and colourful murals, even on the shower screen! 4. Enjoyed the access to the balcony attached to the room

I was unhappy that my credit card had been debited for a sum of £158.13 with no explanation. I only saw this on my return home when I checked my bank statement. I called the hotel reception who tried to be helpful and provided some explanation. Then mysteriously, the originally debited amount morphed into £75, but still showed as a payment to the Mercure. Maybe this will be resolved, but it was an unsatisfactory postscript to a nice stay. One other thing was that we thought that the price for breakfast as excessive - better value could be had at nearby cafes.
