We really enjoyed Parma, the food was excellent and though it is a smaller city it was bustling with amiable energy.

I think that out of all the hotels I’ve stayed in these last few years — and there have been a few — this was the one that surprised me most positively; it really exceeded my expectations. I think it’s the first time I’ve felt that the photos don't quite show what you actually find when you arrive at Palazzo Dalla Rosa Prati. The team is incredibly kind and available, super polite. The room (which, thanks to an upgrade we loved, ended up being a fantastic apartment) was exceptional in every way. The location and the view are breathtaking! The building is historic and gorgeous. Everything was wonderful. I just have to thank the team for the fantastic stay they provided us with.

Some ups and some downs - Palazzo stay amazing - local restaurant people not so much

Honestly this location was better than I had expected. When I booked this apartment, I did not realize it was in essence a hotel and a stunning one for that matter. I drove from Florence to Parma and had some problems with the directions that were being given to me by google maps. Once I got to a location where I could go no further, I called the location and Juliana literally walked a block and found me and led me to the hotel. Everyone there were so accommodating and wonderful. I also had an issue with my rental vehicle and one of the staff took it upon himself to look up the error message and sent me an email with exactly what to do in order to fix it. I loved that there is also a little store in the lobby of the hotel where I bought a large amount of Parmigiano Reggiano and Balsamic vinegar from the area. SOOO GOOD!! The location was also amazing, we were right on the square of the Parma Cathedral and Baptistry, absolutely stunning. We could see the baptistry from our room. There is also a lovely Cafe called Cardinal Bar Srl right outside the hotel to the right where the owners were lovely.

I was a little disappointed in how we were treated in the 4 separate restaurants we tried. The food itself was fantastic, however the staff at 3 of the 4 of the locations spoke poorly about "Americans" before they realized I spoke the language and then just avoided the table. We literally just ordered and were extremely polite because I know how Americans can be perceived, so this was unexpected. It was uncomfortable and that is a shame because it was my first visit to Parma and I was excited to visit. I'm not sure I will go back because we didn't really feel welcomed. I will however say that the staff at the Palazzo dalla rosa Prati were the complete opposite. They were beyond wonderful and helpful and if I go back it will be because of them. Maybe if we had done a tour outside of the city our experience would have been different. I may give it another try because it was a beautiful city.

Parma rules! Especially if you are a foodie

Super location right next to and with a view to the cathedral. Room have a nice retro-charme. Our junior suite was nicely sized with a kitchenette incl. a fridge (good to store all the hams & cheeses you buy...) Staff was super nice & helpful. Price (in October) was very reasonable and our whole experience was super!

Not easy to get to plus you have to drive through a pedestrian road, getting lot's of dirty looks. No valet service for parking the car.

A MOST BEAUTIFUL HOTEL RIGHT IN THE HEART OF PARMA

The room was delightful, with a beautiful view out to the cathedral and the Baptistry and the staff were extrmely helpful. Arrangements for parking our vehicle nearby were very good.

The breakfast arrangements were rather strange and the breakfast itself was well below the standard I would expect for an hotel of this standard. I communicated with the hotel about this after our visit. They explained that they are currently reorganising the breakfast facilities. They were very responsive, accepted my comments and offered a full refund of the breakfast cost for the two days we stayed.

Location 20 out of 10. Right on the steps of the cathedral and battisterio. Staff very helpful and friendly. Spacious apartment. Clean and neat

Spacious room with nice view or the Duomo and plaza. Vittorio gave us a private tour of his mother's apartment and told us the history of the historic building. The wisteria tree in the courtyard is 250 years old.

Wonderful romantic stay at Palazzo Dalla Rosa Prati

Fantastic view of the Duomo & Piazza. Friendly obliging staff. Lovely note & a bottle of wine in our suite for our 50th Wedding Anniversary.

It was hard to keep things cold in the very small fridge in the kitchenette & the old jug needs to be updated. Little things like that can make a big difference if you’re staying for any length of time.

Lovely old style Parma hotel in wonderful location

Lovely charming historical property on the Duomo square - the decor is very traditional but works well given the great location. It’s in a more peaceful pretty part of town but is only 5 mins from the more lively social areas. The suite was very spacious with a marvellous view of the Duomo square and Baptistery. Very comfy bed! Staff were super helpful and friendly throughout.

Minor point but the bathroom was a little small - tricky having enough room to dry off after a shower.
