Central location, lovely friendly helpful staff, great breakfast with lots of choice.
Minor really but unable to charge phone by bed, nearest socket above table under tv.

It was a lovely hotel with history with it. It looked beautiful for the outside and all that we saw from with in.
Our room over looked the inner square of the hotel. Nothing to look at but thats is the luck of the draw.

the location.
As check-in only starts at 4:00 PM which, in my personal travel experience is unusual. We were waiting in the lobby to store our luggage. While my husband and I were speaking with the receptionist and two friends were waiting nearby, one of the friends approached my husband to place something in a backpack that was about to be stored with the rest of our luggage.
At that moment, the hotel’s general manager approached from behind and physically held my friend by the arm in front of other guests, apparently assuming he was interfering with someone else’s belongings. My friend was surprised and immediately clarified that we were traveling together. From our perspective, while attentiveness to guest security is understandable, physical contact felt inappropriate and uncomfortable in this situation.
The incident left our group shocked, and I was so embarrassed OMG! The 4th friend who witnessed everything expressed concern directly at the time, noting that this did not seem like an appropriate way to approach a guest. What disappointed us most was that no one from management mainly the GM later approached us to clarify the situation or offer an apology.
We were staying at the hotel for our WEDDING celebrations and had recommended the property to SEVERAL friends, which made the experience particularly upsetting. Our friend involved felt genuinely distressed afterward.
Additionally, when our family attempted to arrange a small surprise upgrading our room and a bottle of champagne/chocolates, the process felt unnecessarily complicated and inflexible they mentioned to us, which added to later frustration.
