    Great luxurious feel to the old building with modern facilities. Very large room and so close to the lake and the Polynesian Thermal Baths. Will put it as our top pick if returning to Rotorua.

    Excellent customer service. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Amazing restaurant, 5⭐️ à la carte meal with brilliant service (thank you Jean!). We would highly recommend to anyone - we plan to stay here again when next we visit NZ!

    Quite a quirky boutique hotel. Has a geothermal spa on site that’s underused. However is also a source of strong sulphur smell so be aware if you are sensitive to smell of rotten eggs! We stayed on the ground floor so the creaking footsteps from floor above is quite irritating at times. The hot breakfast is delightful but menu unchanged over 3 days. All in all, a good place to stay and explore Rotorua

    Booked the Duchess Suite a month in advance, arrived and they gave us a room that was a downgrade from what I booked. Challenged that and they claimed that wasn't what I booked although my booking confirmation said so. Said I couldn't have that booking because someone else was booked to stay there. Offered no compensation for the downgrade. First night I slipped on a wet tile and fell on my back. I didn;t hurt my spine thankfully but the bruising is only subsiding 2 weeks later, so it was very substantial. I let them know what happened and the response was that they'll put an extra mat down. Didn't ask if I was ok, if I needed anything. Bathroom doors were very dirty near the handles. Otherwise the room we were given was warm and comfortable.
