Amazing resort and staff

My husband and I have been to Bali many times but never stayed at vila Lumbung. This is a beautiful resort. The staff are absolutely amazing and the food incredible. The pool is one of the best we have seen and our accommodation was outstanding.

It is a little far from the main beaches especially if it is hot but we didn't need to go to the beach this trip. We had 3 days at the resort and 2 days on adventures.

Great! But...

Location wise, it is a great spot - close to lots of restaurants, shops and bars, and easily accessible to all of Seminyak and beyond. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is always great. The pool and gardens are beautiful.

The WiFi is sketchy and drops out a lot. The shower fluctuated between scalding and freezing. The beers were pricey and need to be a lot colder.

Older/traditional Balinese style hotel in a great location.

Great staff and location. Pool area was nice - plenty of beds and towels. Kids loved swimming. The rooms were large. Hot shower and large clean towels.

Rooms were very dated and smelled musty. The mattress smelled so bad - needs replacing. I thought it was the sheets and asked for them to be changed, but it was the mattress. Aircon not great and neither was the wifi. Breakfast 4/10.

The staff were truly wonderful — very friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help. From the moment I raised a concern on our first day, they were proactive and made genuine efforts to ensure our comfort, whether by offering a room change or improving the level of cleanliness. Their positive attitude made a noticeable difference to our stay.

The hotel itself has a very nice concept with a jungle-style atmosphere, which is quite charming. That said, the rooms would benefit from some refreshing and upgrades. The furniture feels a bit outdated, and the room could be cleaner and more refined overall. Considering the natural surroundings, better sealing of the balcony doors would also be important to prevent insects from entering. Breakfast was acceptable but would benefit from more variety to suit guests from different backgrounds. It would also be helpful if the dining area were more enclosed to avoid flies around the food. Unfortunately, the Wi-Fi connection was quite weak during our stay.

Everything was kind of dirty, like behind the beds and dust on decorations. Staff standing around when they could be cleaning or wiping surfaces with actual cleaning agent perhaps.

Staff were very friendly and professional

Bottom floor Lumbung far too dark / not enough light. WIFi poor meaning my husband needed to leave to watch live sports Television reception poor. No smart tvs to link to phone. Mosquitos were very bad, needed patches for my daughter as she was very affected and couldn’t sleep Playground needs urgent update / unsafe Walls and bathrooms felt dirty/ tile grout dirty. Shower needs good scrub Not having walls in downstairs lumbung toilet meant every time door opens mosquitoes come in. Adapters for Australian appliances not easily available. Better to install universal plugs in rooms

Good Budget Stay, but Expect Maintenance Issues

The garden is beautiful and clearly well taken care of. It really adds to the atmosphere. • The staff were genuinely lovely, helpful, and made the stay more pleasant. • The location is great. • Good option if you’re looking for a budget-friendly place.

The rooms desperately need a major upgrade. • No hot water for three nights, so we couldn’t have a proper shower. Shower didn’t even work, only dripping water. • The shower was slippery, and my elderly mother couldn’t get into it at all because it was set inside a high bath. • Lots of mosquitoes in the room. • The TV didn’t work and the air con was so loud. • Breakfast wasn’t great—I didn’t end up eating anything.

Amazing, definitely recommended

The traditional looks of the hotel, very tranquil, hotel staff were amazing. We had noisy neighbours and they moved us to a fantastic room with no fuss. Breakfast was lovely.

Beautiful Balinese Resort

We loved everything, our room was a ground floor deluxe which was of really good size, bed was very comfy, pool was great which we spent all our days in. Fabulous choices for breakfast which was so tasty, staff were so kind and attentive. We moved on to another location but wished we had stayed on longer. This was our 2nd stay here, and we will return again. Loved the stunning gardens and Outlook of the Balinese Lumbungs.

As we are older we found it hard getting out of the shower as it is over the bath.

Great location! Amazing staff, like truly incredible. Buffet breakfast was great, rooms were so cool. We had the upper level with balcony. Room service daily from the hotel boys was great. Pool was really fun. Easy checking in and out and the men on the gate coming and going were really lovely. Great value for money.

Great value for money in an excellent location.

Whilst the property was tired it had everything we needed as a family of 3. Pool was lovely, food and drinks great and well priced. Basic but tasty breaky. We stayed in one of the Lumbungs. Very spacious. The grounds were beautiful kept! There was a chess board by the pool and a hoop in the pool for the kids.

Just tired in some places. The pool area could use some tidying of paving. Lots of cats, a little too friendly for my liking.

Amazing - will come back!

Great breakfast - good selection and very fresh. Staff is friendly and helpful. Territory is huge and super green. Very quiet. Pool is awesome. Good playground for kids. Kid-friendly cats. 2 minutes walk to supermarket and nice Italian restaurant. 20 minutes semi-paved walk to the beach.

Shuttle to the beach could be a bit earlier for early risers.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay, it was great value for money and in a fantastic location.

It was in a great location and the staff were very friendly. The pool is also amazing, especially with the swim up bar.

The gym facilities weren’t great, the treadmills felt like I was going to break it. They also didn’t have the rooms that I booked available so they “upgraded” us to a villa, however it was much older.

Good value for money, lovely but not as crazy as some Seminyak hotels.

Great pool but as other review said very hard to get a sun lounger unless it’s before 9am. Rooms had a great terrace to sit out in the garden. Beds were super comfy.

Cats wander around the restaurant, sitting on chairs. Rubbing themselves against your legs. I’m a bit allergic to cats but couldn’t keep them away from me so I got a nasty rash on my legs.

The worse experience in the three weeks stay.

It was nice and big at first.

Our room was full of lizards and mosquitoes. They could get two of the lizards but there were much more. I spent two weeks in Bali without any issues, but just one night there, I was bitten by mosquitoes all over my body. The villas are not sealed, and there are lots of gaps for insects to get into them.

A comfortable stay with friendly staff but lacking the feeling of luxury.

Very friendly and attentive staff. Whole resort is very clean and rooms are cleaned promptly everyday. Great location with shops, restaurants and wellness centres close by. Not far walk from the beach either.

The resort feels a bit tired and lacking finesse, possibly in need of an upgrade/lick of paint here and there. Therefore feels like a 3-star rather than a 4-star accommodation. Food is average at best including the buffet breakfast.

Breakfast was ok , aircon good ,water pressure ok, bed was fairly comfortable!The property is very aged and so run down Even the linen is so old The pool was ok but never enough chairs and bad conditions around pool and in pool toilets . The shower is above the bath and side of bath is very high it’s really dangerous and slippery getting in and out ! House keeping staff were lovely and a young trainee Chandra was amazing . I thought the rest of the staff were not that friendly at all .
