Location, staff and breakfast. Good air conditioning and room space. Bathrooms clean and equipped with basics. Breakfast has good food quality - an addition of omelette would make it perfect.

Wonderful kind staff - multilingual. 24/7 front desk service. They allowed us to leave luggage there before check-in allowing us to explore the city.
Breakfast was very generous: selection of pastries, toast, yoghurt, cereals, fruit, tea/coffee/juice. No cooked food but did make fresh apple pies which were so delicious! They also kindly let us come eat breakfast 30mins early as we had early morning activities, and they also offered to pack up breakfast instead but we didn’t use this option.
Location is absolutely perfect - 100% ideal location. Extremely close to everything in Funchal, the marina, cable cars, museums, gardens, bus stops and lots of restaurants. There’s a shop right next to it for all your basic needs.
WiFi was very erratic and strangely only worked in some areas of the room.
No lift - not an issue for us but those with mobility issues may struggle with flights of stairs so be warned.
In our room, the bathroom is quite narrow, making the toilet quite cramped and uncomfortable.
Room facilities slightly lacking eg no towel rail, lack of cupboard/drawer space, no bin (had to use plastic bag). The room itself was ok: tea/coffee facilities, comfortable bed and blanket, good warm shower and strong water pressure, soap and shampoo gels, and there is great air conditioning, but the room was definitely cramped - but because we don’t stay in the rooms anyways because you’re on holiday it’s not a big deal. For the above points , overall rating is 7.5/10 and would definitely come back.

The staff were super friendly , the location is very central ! Room are lil bit small but clean .. only problem no elevator
Stairs .. no elevator so if u got luggages good luck ! We had to leave the bag down and go down pick stuff from it and go up to the room
