Pestana Blue Alvor Beach - All Inclusive Hotel

Large hotel , on a small hill overlooking the coast about 10 minutes walk from the beach where there are lots of little coves etc. Accommodation is excellent , food is available at all hours , from several of their restaurants and is also very good with plenty of choice.

The staff were so friendly from the moment we entered the hotel. The most professional staff I've encountered.

Upon arrival, the gym was out of service, which was quite disappointing. Unfortunately, on my final day—when I had planned to use the spa—the spa and indoor swimming pool were also unavailable ( out of service). I understand that facilities can occasionally experience issues, but it’s important that they are repaired as quickly as possible, as guests are paying for full access to all amenities. Overall, I left feeling disappointed. In some of the days the food choices were awful

The hotel's location is excellent. Some employees are cooperative.

This hotel certainly does not deserve a 5-star rating. Cleanliness is virtually non-existent; some floors—and even some bathrooms—have a foul odor. The bathrooms contain old towels. The bathroom has nothing but a bottle of shampoo and hand soap. There are no chairs available by the pool; people reserve them for the entire day. I suspect they go off for a nap while keeping them reserved. The building needs a complete renovation.
