They made me feel special for a few nights.

Drains had an awful smell in our bathroom.
On arrival we were presented with a double sided A4 list of terms and conditions and asked to sign it, rather off putting.
Outside of hotel is nice and some of the indoor spaces are ok BUT it has NO old English character in the bedrooms, shame, it could have been good.
One pub nearby closed for refurb, the other closes early, no one eating in the hotel as it is too expensive so we had to drive to Bicester.
We had service charge automatically added to our bill, they removed this on request.
I then disputed the bar bill. They said we had 2 drinks each which we did not. They agreed to rectify it and we paid for what we had and left.
When I returned home they emailed me to say that they had charged me an additional fee on my credit card for bar purchases!!!
I had to email them to state that we had NOT had the drinks that they were now saying that we had! They then quoted the terms and conditions to me.
I continued to dispute their revised bill and pointed out that as we had mentioned the smell in the bedroom, they could have shown good customer service, and actually waived the £11 which they took from my account, post departure!
The hotel have now sent me a badly written email and have refunded the incorrect charge.
This wrangle spoilt our experience.
