Exceptional hotel. Beautiful surroundings and luxurious feel. The staff are delightful.
We booked the restaurant without knowing price! It was £45 per person for two courses which was quite a shock - but felt awkward to then leave.

Ideal location for a short stay.
Pretty garden and grounds.
Building is grand and picturesque with good links to major roads and local attractions.
Staff were polite and friendly.
Room was basic, despite the gaudy/blingy furniture.
Room was up 2 flights of (quite narrow) stairs and there was no offer to help with luggage, 2 large cases. So I carried in 2 trips.
The smell of cooking permeated the whole upstairs and the ventilation from the kitchen seemed poor, particularly breakfast time.
Pricey for what was a very basic offering.
Restaurant food was very average (lamp rump was very tough), though staff were polite and efficient.
