The architecture is lovely and the rooms are nice. The breakfast and evening meals are decent.
Rooms cleaned only on request, as are the towels. We had a 4 night stay and weren’t informed of this when checking in. And there are limited tea/coffee supplies at reception on top of these not being topped up with the expected clean.

We loved the Art Nouveau/Jugendstil style both in the building and in other buildings around the city. The Breakfasts were excellent. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and we enjoyed the hotel sauna. We are also familiar with the Kalavela, so staying in Lönrotinskatu and finding the statue of Lönrot was a surprise and a delight.
Since we are both Vegan, we were a little disappointed at the provision for evening meal, but there are plenty of places to eat in Helsinki which cater for Vegans. We certainly didn't starve.

Breakfast was ok, just ok.
The dinner was really horrible, luckily the salad bar was decent.
They couldn't fulfill a minor special request.
If you're a bigger than an 8 yo child, skip the "compact" sized rooms
