Chelsea Cloisters Serviced Apartments

Third time staying here. Very great.

I needed to undergo a 6 week cancer treatment at the Royal Marsden so having an appartment with a kitchenet was perfect and the reliable internet allowed me to keep working. From what I understand many people who undergo long cancer treatment use the Chelsea Cloisters so perhaps you could offer cheaper rates to support people who are already fighting a horrible battle. The rooms are also a bit tired and the fact that none of the windows are double glazed made it particularly noice on the lower floors. Also the main lift was out of order for over 2 weeks.

We needed somewhere to stay for one night in Chelsea. Finding somewhere affordable was not easy until I found Chelsea Cloisters. The photos looked good but the reviews were very mixed. On arrival the foyet was very clean and the desk staff were extremely welcoming. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. There's a mini-kitchen that has all you would need to cater for yourself including a washer/dryer! The room was very hot on entry and we had to open the window to cool it down. The bathroom was supplied with clean fluffy towels. The building within was very quiet, we didn't even hear anyone walking past the door. The negatives: the windows are the original metal framed, single glazed type so you do hear outside noise (probably a listed building). The floorboards were very creaky. The bathroom and kitchen fittings are tired. The taps are very old and have lost their shine. There was no cold water, hot water came from both taps. Some of the grout in the bathroom was black. The cabinet doors in the bathroom were swollen from years of moisture. We don't mind things being a little rough around the edges but if you want immaculate then this place is not for you! However, if you want comfortable, quiet, warm, affordable accomodation then it's perfect. next time we need to visit London this will be our go-to place.

Extremely disappointing experience from start to finish. As I was coming out of the building, I was approached and confronted by a security guard who began accusing me of wrongdoing because I had brought a guest to the property. I was never clearly informed of any policy prohibiting guests during booking or check-in. Rather than handling the situation professionally, the security guard was aggressive, intimidating, and treated me as though I had committed an offense. I was even told to call the police, which was completely unnecessary and inappropriate. The most shocking part was being told that I had only one hour to leave the property. As a paying guest on holiday, being threatened with immediate eviction with almost no notice was humiliating, stressful, and completely unacceptable. If there are restrictions regarding visitors, they should be clearly disclosed to guests before booking or at check-in. No guest should be confronted, accused, and threatened in this manner over a policy that was never properly communicated. Unfortunately, this was not the only issue. The room was old, poorly maintained, and had an unpleasant smell throughout the stay. What was shown in the photos was completely different from the actual room provided. The room looked nothing like the pictures advertised online and was far below expectations. I felt misled by the listing. The reception staff were also unprofessional and unhelpful. Rather than addressing concerns properly, the overall attitude from staff made the experience even more frustrating. To make matters worse, there appeared to be only one working elevator serving a building with hundreds of rooms. This resulted in extremely long waiting times and unnecessary inconvenience throughout the stay. The condition of the property, the misleading room photos, the poor management, the unprofessional staff, and the unacceptable treatment by security completely ruined what should have been an enjoyable holiday experience. I would not stay here again and would strongly advise other travelers to avoid this property unless they are prepared for a very different experience from what is advertised.
