Great location but old building with zero facilities

Have stayed here 3 times already…..booked for 4th time!! Best location and everything is in close proximity.

We recently stayed at Arlington House Apartments, and while the apartment was spacious, unfortunately our overall experience was disappointing, particularly as a family travelling with children. Before booking, we actually visited the property and were shown an apartment by a member of staff. We specifically asked for the name of the apartment category we had viewed and were told it was a Superior Deluxe Room. Based on that information, we booked the same category through Agoda. However, when we arrived, the apartment we were given was completely different from the one we had been shown. We even had a video of the apartment from our previous visit. When we explained this to reception, we were told that the room names/categories on Agoda were different from those used for direct hotel bookings and that we should take the issue up with Agoda. This was very frustrating, as we had relied on the information given to us directly by the hotel before making the reservation. We also noticed a clear difference in the attitude at reception once they realised our booking was through Agoda. Several requests were met with responses such as, “This is your Agoda booking, so we cannot do anything.” Even when we asked about changing the pillows, we were told the hotel was full and priority was given to guests who had booked directly. If the property chooses to sell its apartments through third-party platforms, guests should not feel that they receive a different level of service because of where they booked. For families with young children, there are also a few important things to consider. Access from the lobby to reception and then to the main lifts involves stairs. There is a platform lift for pushchairs, but we did not find it particularly convenient or comfortable to use, especially with a sleeping child, and assistance was not readily offered. The main lifts are also extremely small — barely enough for one pushchair and one adult — so families may need to make multiple trips. The apartment itself felt quite worn in some areas, and the living room was not particularly child-friendly due to some of the furniture and glass features. Another major issue was housekeeping. There was no housekeeping service during the weekend (Saturday and Sunday), and there were also shortages of towels and other basic room items when we requested them. Overall, Arlington House Apartments offers good space, but our experience with the booking, reception service, accessibility with children, housekeeping and condition of the apartment was disappointing. These are points I would have appreciated knowing before booking, particularly as a family with young children.
